Friday Meme’s: The Thickety
Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
How would you pitch to the biz to make your favorite book into a movie? – Suggested byGirl of 1000 Wonders
Hmm, not really ever thought of it because it’s not like hollywood is going to knock on my door ask for my opinion..lol.
How about if Twilight can be made into a movie then why not Hearts at Stake by Alxyandra Harvey as it’s so much better than the other one. 😉
Seriously, I wouldn’t have a clue on how to pitch something. 🙁
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
Hand in hand, the witch’s children walked down the empty road.
When Kara Westfall was six years old, her mother was convicted of the worst of all crimes: witchcraft. Years later, Kara and her little brother, Taff, are still shunned by the people of their village, who believe that nothing is more evil than magic . . . except, perhaps, the mysterious forest that covers nearly the entire island. It has many names, this place. Sometimes it is called the Dark Wood, or Sordyr’s Realm. But mostly it’s called the Thickety.
The black-leaved trees swayed toward Kara and then away, as though beckoning her.
The villagers live in fear of the Thickety and the terrible creatures that live there. But when an unusual bird lures Kara into the forbidden forest, she discovers a strange book with unspeakable powers. A book that might have belonged to her mother.
And that is just the beginning of the story.
The Thickety: A Path Begins is the start of a thrilling and spellbinding tale about a girl, the Thickety, and the power of magic.
Kara lay in bed thinking of names. Mother and Father had yet to settle on one, even though there was only six weeks left until she became a big sister.
Hand in hand, the witch’s children walk down the empty road.
I am going to start this one today and it sounds really cute so I am hoping for a real cool adventure. It’s a middle grade book and I am needing something nice and light and hopefully fun. 🙂
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
“It’s a squit,” Kara said.
“I don’t know what that is. Is it bad? It sounds bad.”
“They’re rare. Usually they come out only in the warmer months, unless they’re mating. Then-“
“Does it bite?”
“That really wasn’t the answer I was hoping for.”
LOL, I don’t know what a squit is but I am with that other person that would not be the answer I was hoping for. I have no idea what is going on here but I can’t wait to find out. 🙂
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Books, books, and more books. What other things do you love besides reading? Now I know that is a difficult question, but we can’t read 24/7, right?
What do you mean we can’t read 24/7? 🙁 I like to watch TV and movies, but honestly I normally read while doing so..lol. Some times I like to dabble in crafting jewelry and other things. 🙂 I also like to try my hand at writing and working on a cozy mystery but my reading gets in the way…got to prioritize…lol.
