BMR,Friday's MemeSince there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

featurefollowFeature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.

What is the first book you remember reading? – Suggested byBookish Findings

This is really hard because my old brain can’t remember that far back!!! I remember my dad reading Goodnight Moon and Brer Rabbit books to me (he use to do voices with these Besides those I can’t remember a lot of childhood reading though I know I did it because I use to get those personal pan pizzas all the time for I am showing my age by listing these

I can remember reading horror books like Pet Semetary when I was around 13 or 14 and it’s probably why I am so messed up to this day..LOL.  I also remember reading Christopher Pike, but beyond that it gets a bit I just know I have always been a reader.

stars never rise

Sixteen-year-old Nina Kane should be worrying about her immortal soul, but she’s too busy trying to actually survive. Her town’s population has been decimated by soul-consuming demons, and souls are in short supply. Watching over her younger sister, Mellie, and scraping together food and money are all that matters. The two of them are a family. They gave up on their deadbeat mom a long time ago.

When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their very existence, she’ll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal Church and its army of black-robed exorcists. And Mellie’s sin has put her in serious trouble.

To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a fugitive with deep green eyes who has already saved her life once and who might just be an exorcist. But what kind of exorcist wears a hoodie?

Wanted by the Church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she can’t survive on her own. She needs Finn and his group of rogue friends just as much as they need her.

There’s never a good time of the day to cross town with a bag full of stolen goods, but of all the possibilities, five a. m. was the hour best suited to that particular sin.

This beginning has peaked my interest. I only just started this book and I am about 16% in but it has got my attention.

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

He reached for my hand and I let him take it, but my fingers wouldn’t relax in his grip, because it wasn’t his grip. It was Reese’s. I frowned. This new hand was broader, it’s fingers longer. This new hand felt different. It didn’t feel like Finn. This hand swallowed mine like it had when I’d shaken Reese’s hand.

No clue what is going on here, so not sure if those are two different people or one person with two different names. I admit though I am curious to know! Makes me want to start reading so I can find out! 🙂

From 56% on my kindle.

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

Do you lend your books out to friends and family?

Only if I don’t want them back. I am very picky about my books and when I lend them they always come back all battered and crinkled and it kills me so I can’t do it any more. I don’t bend spins or anything and I’m very OCD about it..I can handle books like that only if I get them used but even then it bugs 🙂

It was a favorite cause I loved looking for the mouse on every page! 🙂 So far The Stars Never Rise is different and not sure if that is good or

  1. I am very careful who I lend mine too, but it is mostly family and friends. If a friend returns a book that has they damages, they don’t get any more. 🙂

I don’t re-read books, but I do like to keep my favorites.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts today.

As for the first book I read…not really sure, but the book I remember the most is THE BOXCAR CHILDREN. I loved that book.

    ENJOY your weekend.

    Happy Hopping!!

Yeah, I am like you if they return them all banged up I don’t offer to let them borrow anymore and find reasons why they can’

  2. I have always had a hand in my book. I remember reading abridged comic versions of classics like Jane Austin in my grandmother’s basement. I too read Stephen King as a very young teen.

  3. I don’t lend books that I want to keep. I have a special pile of very special books that don’t leave my house. However, books that are not in that “very special” category, I lend, give away, donate to the library, or swap readily.
