Friday Meme’s ~ The Janes

January 10, 2020 Misc. 10

Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

book beginnings memeBook Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.

The electric follow-up to Louisa Luna’s acclaimed thriller Two Girls Down, featuring private investigators Alice Vega and Max Caplan.

On the outskirts of San Diego, the bodies of two young women are discovered. They have no names, no IDs, and no family looking for them. Fearing the possibility of a human trafficking ring, the police and FBI reach out to Alice Vega, a private investigator known for finding the missing, for help in finding out who the Janes were–and finding the others who are missing.
Alice Vega is a powerful woman whose determination is matched only by her intellect, and, along with her partner Cap, she will stop at nothing to find the Janes before it is too late.
Louisa Luna is writing new classics of crime fiction, and her partnership of Vega and Cap is rightfully joining the pantheon of the most memorable in crime fiction.

Hopefully by the time this is posted I have finished this book, it’s really getting good!

Meet our girl: seventeen, arrived here a year ago from a rough and dusty town in Chiapas, considered pretty by most standards because she is young, her face unmarked by scars or wrinkles, her body boasting the tender snap of fresh muscle.

If you didn’t read what the book is about it’s about human trafficking, so it starts out with some of that going on.

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

Mia finished wiping the cut clean and tossed one of the washcloths behind her into the bathtub.

Bet you want to know what is going on but I am not going to tell you. 😉

56% into the eARC.

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

Do you have a reading challenge for 2020?

I didn’t sign up for any year long ones but I have some personal goals. I want to try and catch up on some series and I have a few old series that I would like to give a try.

I’m so glad you are featuring The Jane’s! I’ve been wondering about this one. I still need to read Two Girls Down, but Luna is definitely an author I want to try. Good luck with your read goals, Stormi! Have a great weekend!

This one was really good, I do suggest you read Two Girls Down first as it does mention the case from the first book and so you won’t be confused about it. Though I guess it could work as a stand alone. I am just OCD for reading in order…lol.
