Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
Tour your bookcase for us!
My shelves are messy so I didn’t want to show them all to you, but here is a couple to show you what I mean by messy. The top shelf is all the review audiobooks that I have to listen too and the other row is some print review books plus some extra audios that the publisher accidentally sent me more than one of the same book.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
The first installment of an adventure featuring stolen books, secret agents and forbidden societies – think Doctor Who with librarian spies!
Irene must be at the top of her game or she’ll be off the case – permanently…
Irene is a professional spy for the mysterious Library, which harvests fiction from different realities. And along with her enigmatic assistant Kai, she’s posted to an alternative London. Their mission – to retrieve a dangerous book. But when they arrive, it’s already been stolen. London’s underground factions seem prepared to fight to the very death to find her book.
Adding to the jeopardy, this world is chaos-infested – the laws of nature bent to allow supernatural creatures and unpredictable magic. Irene’s new assistant is also hiding secrets of his own.
Soon, she’s up to her eyebrows in a heady mix of danger, clues and secret societies. Yet failure is not an option – the nature of reality itself is at stake.
Here is another one that is coming up on my reading list. I have heard good things about it so I have high hopes! 🙂
Irene passed the mop across the stone floor in smooth, careful strokes, idly admiring the gleam of wet flagstones in the lanternlight. Her back was complaining, but that was only normal after an evening’s work cleaning. The cleaning was certainly necessary.
Not an extremely grabbing intro but some times the first paragraph isn’t the grabbers its the next couple that get you. 🙂
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
“That could actually be construed as support for Miss Winters’s theory,” Vale said thoughtfully. “In order not to attract Alberich’s attention, your superiors could have chosen to send someone who had no idea of the book’s importance. Someone who would not be seen as an obvious choice for important missions.”
I am a little curious to know what they are talking about here. 🙂
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Name an author or authors that you have read most of his or her books and would recommend to others.
Heather Graham, I haven’t read all or even near most of her books but she is awesome and I am working my way through her Krewe of Hunters series and I am currently on #9 so you can see that I really enjoy her.
Lynn Cahoon, she is my favorite cozy mystery author and I have listened to everything she has done for The Tourist Trap Mysteries as I just finished up her latest last week. 🙂
I could go on but will stop with just two. 🙂
