Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
A group of motorists become stranded on a lonely stretch of highway during a Christmas Eve blizzard and fight for survival against an unnatural force in the storm. The gathered survivors realize a tenuous connection among them means it may not be a coincidence that they all ended up on this highway. An attempt to seek help leads a few of the travelers to a house in the woods where a twisted toymaker with a mystical snow globe is hell bent on playing deadly games with a group of people just trying to get home for the holidays.
I am about 57% into this one and so far it’s not to bad.
A snowplow trudged along the narrow turnpike lane, to keep up with the onslaught of wet heavy snow piling up on the road in thick drifts. Hell of a way to spend Christmas Eve, Toby Hodge thought as the blade of his plow burrowed through the piles of white.
Poor Toby, that is all I can say about the beginning…lol.
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
Tucker Jenks sat upright in the sleeper cab of his truck, afraid to stir. e still had on his outerwear and boots, even his gloves. He didn’t dare take anything off, even though the heater kept the inside of the cab so toasty that sweat dampened his forehead and the back of his neck.
I so totally thought this guy was a goner aways back, so nice to see him still alive. Hope he stays that way but since I am getting ready to read his chapter I guess I might be finding out soon. 🙂
56% into the eARC so it could change before the final print.
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Is there a specific genre you like to read during the Winter?
No, I will read about anything but I might lean towards horror, mystery or thrillers. 🙂 Oh wait I read those all the time anyway! He he he 🙂
