BMR,Friday's MemeSince there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

book beginnings memeBook Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.

Tens of millions of people around the world are dead. Half of China is a nuclear wasteland. Mysterious flesh-eating spiders are marching through Los Angeles, Oslo, Delhi, Rio de Janeiro, and countless other cities. According to scientist Melanie Guyer, however, the spider situation seems to be looking up. Yet in Japan, a giant, truck-sized, glowing egg sack gives a shocking preview of what is to come, even as survivors in Los Angeles panic and break the quarantine zone. Out in the desert, survivalists Gordo and Shotgun are trying to invent a spider super weapon, but it’s not clear if it’s too late, because President Stephanie Pilgrim has been forced to enact the plan of last resort: The Spanish Protocol. America, you are on your own.

Started this one earlier this year but never finished it. I think it’s a bit boring and feels like a filler book as I think this could have been a duology instead of trilogy but I am curious to see what happens so I started it again. 🙂

It was a big flipping spider. That was the only reason he screamed.

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

A bomb, a missile, he didn’t know which, but it had blown the shit out of the overpass.

For once I am actually past this part and know what is going on…lol.

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

Off the book topic – What is your favorite scary movie?

Though I am partial to the old movies that are not real scary…lol.

  1. My favorite scary movie has to be The Shining. I love watching some of the older ones as well. Also, the Halloween 1 and 2 remakes Rob Zombie did are pretty good as well. Face it, I like a lot of them so it’s kind of hard to narrow them down. Hope the spiders attack everyone soon!

  2. Yeah, Skitter didn’t have as much action. About half way thru it gets better. Pet Sematary scared the crap out of me. Still does. When Gage asks his daddy to play. Yikes!

  3. I was at a slumber party when I was 8 years old and we watched Pet Semetary. I was terrified and haven’t been able to watch it since. It was years before I could watch a scary movie at all. No idea what the mom was thinking to show a Stephen King movie to 3rd graders! That’s too bad about Skitter. I hate those books that feel like filler.
