Friday Meme’s ~Lady Ruthless

Posted May 28, 2021 by Stormi in Misc. / 10 Comments

Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.

Lady Calliope Manning is determined to punish the man she holds responsible for her beloved brother’s death. She will do anything in her power to destroy him. When rumors swirl that the Earl of Sinclair requires a wealthy bride to rescue himself from dire financial straits, she seizes the opportunity to ruin him at last.

Justin “Sin” Vaughn, Earl of Sinclair, needs to marry an heiress, and he needs to marry one now. But the sudden, anonymous publication of salacious memoirs rumored to be his obliterates his chances. With polite society convinced he is a murderer, he has only one choice: find the person behind his supposed memoirs and get his revenge.

Callie never expected Lord Sinclair to discover she wrote Confessions of a Sinful Earl. Or to abduct her and demand restitution in the form of her own hand in marriage. She definitely did not expect to find him so difficult to resist…

Sin is about to teach the beautiful, perfidious Lady Callie a lesson in ruthlessness. One scorching-hot kiss at a time.

I was in the mood for romance and this just sounded fun, definitely an enemy to lovers trope.

Lady Calliope Manning, sister to the Duke of Westmorland, social darling, and one cunning, vicious harridan, was about to learn that when a man had nothing left to lose, he was bloody well dangerous.

Yes, she is about to learn this real quick…lol.

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

“You are angry with me,” he observed.

“Not any angrier with you than I was before,” she lied, not sure why it mattered so much.

Her pride, she supposed.

This is from 56% of the ebook from KU and no clue what has happened here as I am not to this yet. 🙂

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

Who is your favorite character…of all the books you’ve read? Why?

This is like making someone chose between their children to pick a favorite…lol. This is very very hard!

Captain Wentworth from Persuasion because he loved Anne even when she broke his heart he still loved her. He wrote the best letter to Anne. (Better than Darcy’s in my opinion…lol)  It’s probably my all time favorite second chance romance.

  1. Oh I couldn’t pick 1 character, but if I had to, it might be Mr. Darcy. His letter isn’t romantic though, it’s a defense and changes everything moving forward. For me, it’s his saving her family from ruin all for Lizzy and in secret that does it. He loves her so much that he does it without hoping to use it to gain her affections. ❤️❤️
