Friday Meme’s ~ Good Girls Lie
Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
Goode girls don’t lie…
Perched atop a hill in the tiny town of Marchburg, Virginia, The Goode School is a prestigious prep school known as a Silent Ivy. The boarding school of choice for daughters of the rich and influential, it accepts only the best and the brightest. Its elite status, long-held traditions and honor code are ideal for preparing exceptional young women for brilliant futures at Ivy League universities and beyond. But a stranger has come to Goode, and this ivy has turned poisonous.
In a world where appearances are everything, as long as students pretend to follow the rules, no one questions the cruelties of the secret societies or the dubious behavior of the privileged young women who expect to get away with murder. But when a popular student is found dead, the truth cannot be ignored. Rumors suggest she was struggling with a secret that drove her to suicide.
But look closely…because there are truths and there are lies, and then there is everything that really happened.
Currently trying to make my way through this one but it’s just not going well. It has great reviews on Goodreads but unless it picks up soon I am having my doubts about this one!
The girl’s body dangles from the tall iron gates guarding the school’s entrance.
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
Glee. It’s such a funny word. So many meanings. The thesaurus is full of synonyms, all implying something beyond happiness. Delight. Joviality. Mirth. Merriment.
Not a clue what is going on here or who is talking. It’s from 56% of the eARC.Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
What is your favorite Christmas themed fiction or nonfiction book?
Not really a huge Christmas themed reader. I have read some books centered around it but not sure I have like a die hard favorite.
I think probably cozy mysteries that are Christmas themed are high on my list. I was kind of bummed when I found out there wasn’t going to be a Christmas Tree Farm Mystery by Jacqueline Frost this year, hope there is one next year!
