Friday Meme’s ~ Double Down (Lois Lane #2)

May 20, 2016 Memes 21

BMR,Friday's MemeSince there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.

Ten Reasons You Love Your Fave Genre.

That is a lot of reasons to love a genre and I am not sure I can come up with ten reasons…lol.

Mysteries

  • I like a book with action
  • I like a book with suspense and mystery
  • There are a wide variety with in the genre from cozy to hard boiled detectives.
  • It’s easy to get wrapped up in a mystery.
  • They have series that can go on forever and you don’t get tired of them.
  • It’s just a genre that never gets old for me and I love even the classics.
  • I just love them.

Okay that is about all I can come up with without repeating myself…lol.

book beginnings memeBook Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.

Double Down

Lois Lane has settled in to her new school. She has friends, for maybe the first time in her life. She has a job that challenges her. And her friendship is growing with SmallvilleGuy, her online maybe-more-than-a-friend. But when her friend Maddy’s twin collapses in a part of town she never should’ve been in, Lois finds herself embroiled in a dangerous mystery that brings her closer to the dirty underbelly of Metropolis.”

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so when Michelle at Because Reading gave me this one while in Chicago I couldn’t wait to start in on it! 🙂

“You lost?” The man asked. He had a zillion wrinkles, and was wearing a hat that would suit an old-fashioned detective. He perched on a stool beside the stairs out of the subway station, ready to launch into a guitar solo. The guitar’s case lay open on the ground in front of him.
Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

I pulled out some money and turned to collect the rest from the back seat. Maddy looked at Melody, who said, “I forgot my card. Can you cover us both?”

“I didn’t bring mine either,” Maddy said.

“I’ll cover it,” James said, taking out his wallet and passing passing over half the fair in cash.

That was mighty nice of James to pay for their fair. His parents are pretty well off so he can afford it…lol. From page 56 of the ARC.

book blogger hop

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

Do you keep a Blog Roll List?

No, I use to have one but they take up to much space, but if I really like a blog I will subscribe to their email so I can keep up.

Yeah, it’s sort of like how Lois Lane got into being a journalist, starting with her getting a job for the school newspaper. Smallvilleguy of course must be superman as a teenager as well, he wants to tell her who he is but his parents won’t let him. I really enjoyed book one and so I was very excited to get this one to read. 🙂

Wow! So many Friday memes! I feel bad having only posted a review now. XD

I’m right there with you on mysteries, though I have to admit that I usually only read them when I’m craving a mystery. Have you ever heard of the Southern Sisters Mysteries by Anne George. Those were super fun. ^-^

    Followed you via BL! ^-^

I haven’t heard of that series you mentioned but I am going to look it up and put it on my tbr pile. 🙂

Followed you back on BL. 🙂

Yes, a great role model for girls. We don’t have enough of those in the comic book genre. 🙂

Yeah, I like many different genres for about the same reasons…lol. Making me pick one just isn’t right…lol.
