Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
What are some of your favorite, hated or memorable characters names?
I think Hermione is an interesting name, I hadn’t heard of it until Harry Potter.
That is really all I can think of off the top of my head. I am horrible at these things…lol. I know there are a lot more!
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
The Mainely Needlepointers are about to learn that no man is an island—especially when greedy developers want his land . . .
Hermit Jesse Lockhart lives alone on King’s Island, three miles east of Haven Harbor, Maine, where he’s created a private sanctuary for the endangered Great Cormorants. But when a wealthy family wants to buy the island and Jesse’s cousin Simon petitions for power of attorney to force him to sell, Jesse is the one who becomes endangered.
Mainely Needlepointer Dave Perry, who befriended Jesse in the VA hospital, rallies the group to his defense. Angie Curtis and the ravelers stitch “Save the King’s Island Cormorants” pillows and sell T-shirts to pay for Jesse’s legal counsel. But tragically, on a visit to the island, Angie and Dave find Jesse dead. Now the search is on for a common thread that can tie the murdered man to his killer . . .
One of my October review books that I am actually reading and almost finished with and I am enjoying it! I really like this series.
The August fog felt damp and soft on my face as I sat on a bench on Wharf Street, sipped my coffee, and watched anchored boats in Haven Harbor appear and disappear. The early morning fog hid the Three Sisters, the islands that protect our small Maine harbor from the ocean’s strength.
This sounds like it would be a nice site to see. 🙂
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
“I said we might be able to convince Uncle Gerry,” said Patrick. “I’ll need your help. He won’t understand why I’ve decided to become an environmentalist overnight, especially since he hasn’t been doing much but talking about that island and going out to see it.”
Patrick has just realized his Uncle wants an island that is inhabited by a threatened species of birds and that Angie and some others are trying to protect them. (I think it’s his way of getting her to spend time with him…sneaky…lol.)
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Halloween Edition: You come across an old library that has the one book you’ve been searching for for years, but the library happens to be haunted by ghosts. Would you go into the library to find the book?
If this old library had a book I have been wanting for years then I am going to be making friends with them ghost and going in…lol. I ain’t afraid of no ghost!! 🙂
