Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
Fall in love, break the curse.
It once seemed so easy to Prince Rhen, the heir to Emberfall. Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his eighteenth year over and over, he knew he could be saved if a girl fell for him. But that was before he learned that at the end of each autumn, he would turn into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. That was before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.
Nothing has ever been easy for Harper Lacy. With her father long gone, her mother dying, and her brother barely holding their family together while constantly underestimating her because of her cerebral palsy, she learned to be tough enough to survive. But when she tries to save someone else on the streets of Washington, DC, she’s instead somehow sucked into Rhen’s cursed world.
Break the curse, save the kingdom.
A prince? A monster? A curse? Harper doesn’t know where she is or what to believe. But as she spends time with Rhen in this enchanted land, she begins to understand what’s at stake. And as Rhen realizes Harper is not just another girl to charm, his hope comes flooding back. But powerful forces are standing against Emberfall . . . and it will take more than a broken curse to save Harper, Rhen, and his people from utter ruin.
I haven’t started this one yet but I am thinking about it…lol. The one I am reading is kind of dragging and I think maybe I am just not in the right mindset for it.
There is blood under my fingernails. I wonder how many of my people I’ve killed this time.
And that sentence is why I want to start this one now, I am already curious! 🙂 Hope it lives up the the hype, I always get nervous with hyped books!
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
I wake with a belly full of fire. My body feels torn apart. I draw a hand across my abdomen. No bandages, no stinging tightness. Lilith didn’t break the skin. Sometimes that’s worse-when the pain is all magic. Magic takes longer to heal.
From about 10% of eARC so wording subject to change. I figured it would be close to about 56 pages of the 496 page book! 🙂
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Did you get any books for Christmas? If so, name the titles.
I never get books from family as they just don’t get me. 🙁 I did get a book from my bookish BFF and she got me Lemon Meringue Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke. Then I got myself some books with a gift card I had been holding on too as Christmas gift to myself and I got 99 Red Balloons by Elisabeth Carpenter as it was on sale for .99 and on my wishlist as well as Kill River by Cameron Roubique that was 4.99. I also have a late gift coming to me that might have a book in it but it was delayed in the mail. 🙁
