Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
She was torn between loyalty… and suspicion … — Trouble began for Boston-bred Molly Ryder when her tape recorder was stolen from her handbag. Later that day she found a dead man lying on her living room floor. — Rick Boulter, an assistant district attorney, was involved with Operation S.N.A.R.E.–a covert strike force to entrap racketeers and extortionists. Because Molly was a linguist and recorded conversations of people with different speech patterns, she had inadvertently taped a conversation that could incriminate her uncle, Judge Ryder, and put Molly’s life in danger — so Rick believed.
Against her will, Molly teamed up with Rick to ferret out a clever — but unknown — adversary …
Going a bit old school for this one as I am reading this for the Categorically Romance Readathon from booktube and one prompt is to read a book published before 2000, so this one is from 1987. 🙂
She’d kill him. She’d kill him. She’d track him to the ends of the earth if it took her entire life and all of her money, time, energy and brainpower.
Kind of an interesting way to start things. 🙂
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
Rick came to a stop at a red light and turned to Molly. “The air is thick with speculation. Want to share some of it?”
She managed a laugh. “I was thinking about having to check into the Meridien at midnight without luggage.”
I haven’t got to this part yet, but I do know why she is checking into the hotel with no luggage. 🙂
Page 56 from the paperback from 1987. 🙂
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
What’s your opinion on love triangle plots?
Don’t get me started! I hate the love triangle plot because I am almost always going to pick the one the character doesn’t pick and get ticked off in the process. 🙂 So nope, just don’t do it!
