Friday Meme’s ~ Something Read, Something Dead

August 9, 2019 Memes 5

Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

book beginnings memeBook Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.

Dark deeds in the Lighthouse Library threaten to send Lucy Richardson’s soon-to-be-wed cousin Josie to an early ’til-death-do-us-part in national bestselling author Eva Gates’ fifth Lighthouse Library mystery.

Just started this one but I do enjoy this series so I am sure it will be good. Not reading to much right now as I have been invaded with a summer cold. 🙁

“I’ve decided to elope.”

“You are not going to elope.”

“Yes, I am. Jake and I will go someplace in the Himalayas. We’ll take days to hike in. We’ll be married by a hermit in a cave.”

After meeting her grandmother and her southern mafia of relatives I don’t blame her for wanting to elope! 🙂

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

And then we have Gloria, Mary Anna, and Florence. And, of course, Mirabelle. I hope they wouldn’t feel too much out of place at Sunday’s shower.

Those are the mafia I was talking about…lol. Lucy put her foot down and wouldn’t budge on the wedding shower she was putting on for her cousin. They are having it at the library, not a place Gloria wanted.

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

What authors do you always read and recommend?

I would say Lynn Cahoon as I read any of her cozy mystery series (The Tourist Trap Mysteries is my favorite), I haven’t read everything by Deanna Raybourn but after loving The Veronica Speedwell series I do want to go and read her others! So I will go with those two authors or I could be here all day. 🙂

I also need to try Cahoon and really am curious about the Lady Grey series from Raybourn. Of course you know I always read and recommend Stephen King and Hunter Shea. For cozies, definitely Jenn McKinlay.
