Fantasy Book Challenge

Royal Reviews is hosting a Fantasy Book Challenge for 2010, and this is a genre that I have been trying to be more open about. I am not a huge fantasy person so I thought maybe this challenge would allow me to try out some books from this genre. If you want to join in go check out Royal Reviews blog for more information.

Since it is not a huge one of mine I will start out with the Curious level (read three books)

  1. Hey Stormi, we just signed up for this too! Hope you find some good ones. If you want some urban fantasy that’s witty and fast paced, you can check out Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files. They’re for adults but we love them. My mom actually got us started on this series. I also like earlier Dean Koontz – Watchers (if you’re a dog lover) and Lightning are my favorites.

Now if you want YA stuff, well, I could give you quite a mega list of good books there!

    Have fun!

  2. I love SF mainly but also read fantasy…I’d recommend Lankhmar by Fritz Leiber, the classic sword & sorcery stories which are also beautifully written. Also Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin and any of the Dragonworld Books by Anne McCaffrey.

Beware the 10 volume fantasy series…life is too short.
