Can You Read a Series in a Month Challenge Complete!

November 30, 2019 Misc. 2

The gals at Because reading had a challenge this month called Can You Read a Series in a Month and I decided to sign up for it. I wasn’t sure if I could do it but I had a plan of if I read one a week I could do it. So I am happy to say that I completed this challenge! Yippee! 🙂

I read reviewed the Wine Trail mystery series by J.C. Eaton. I absolutely love this writing duo’s Sophie Kimball series so I was excited to get to this series. I am a little bummed that I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other series but I am glad to be all caught up on it. You can’t love them all so I did like it, it just didn’t become a new favorite.

This series is about Norrie, she is a screenplay writer, and she got talked into watching her sister’s winery since she is a co-owner. Norrie prefers being a silent co-owner but her sister worked her down till she agreed. Her sister and brother-in-law are going to Costa Rica for a year so Jason, who is an Entomologist, to study some bugs. It wasn’t long after they left that things started to get interesting for Norrie and it’s been one crazy festival or event after another with dead bodies always showing up. 🙂

If you have read my reviews you know I am not a huge fan of Norrie and her antics but I do enjoy the side characters which is why I would continue on with this series. I no nothing about wine as I don’t drink any kind of alcohol so sometimes that stuff flies over my head but for the most part I don’t have a problem. Also look at those covers! Each one of them have cute doggies on the covers as well as a goat. The furry ones featured the most though are Charlie the plot hound and Alvin the goat.

Overall, I would give this series about a 3.25 stars. There are only four currently out so it has plenty of time to grow on me more. 🙂
