A free short story, 9.2, in the Psy-Changeling paranormal romance series set outside of the San Francisco-Bay Area. The focus is on young Ben, a pup in the SnowDancer wolf pack.

My Take

Oh, this was so sweet, and Singh was so sneaky, making me think this would be a story about the class Indigo is teaching. Instead, we have a short story seen from Indigo’s perspective in third person point-of-view.

It’s the patience of a man with a young boy, encouraging him to have confidence, to be himself.

And it goes to show Singh’s talent as a writer to say so much in so few words.

The Story

An unexpected howl catches Indigo’s attention as she’s about to address a class of young soldiers. A sound that should not be there.

The Characters

Lieutenant Indigo Rivere is mated to Drew Kincaid, the pack’s tracker. Riley is Drew’s brother.

Ben is a young pup whom I adore! The young soldiers include Tai and the edgy Charlie. Jem had once been a student. Marlee Lauren is Psy and Walker’s daughter.

Hawke Snow is their alpha.

The Title

The title may sound formal, but this “Wolf School” is quite unofficial, and equally important.
