Goodreads

When danger claims her, rescue comes from the one man she least expects...

A cowgirl at heart, Bo Hamilton does her best thinking in wide-open spaces. So when money goes missing from the family foundation she runs—meaning one of her trusted, ragtag employees is a thief—Bo rides into the Crazy Mountains to figure things out. But a killer hiding among the sawtooth ridges takes her captive…and isn't planning on ever letting her go.

Bo's disappearance gets folks thinking she's the guilty one run off with the money, but Jace Calder would bet his ranch that she's innocent. Not that he has any reason to trust the beautiful, spoiled senator's daughter. But she also gave his troubled sister a job when no one else would. For his sibling's sake, Jace is going after Bo and bringing her home to face the truth. But in the wild, rugged Crazy Mountains, he finds Bo at the mercy of a suspected murderer. As her only hope, Jace is about to find out what they're both made of.

What I thought of this book

I like B.J. Daniels because she not only writes about sexy cowboys but because a lot of her novels have a suspense element that I like.

I first met the Hamilton’s in Wild Horses and this one is about Bo Hamilton. Some interesting things happened in Wild Horses that carries over into Lone Rider, but I won’t mention them. It kind of effects the foundation that is in her mothers name and now money is missing. Bo has no idea where it as went, but she has an appointment to meet with an auditor. Everyone is going to think she took the money, but she doesn’t need it as she is Senator Buckmaster Hamilton’s daughter. She does know that this could be a horrible scandal for her father who is trying to make a run for President.

Jace Calder has had his heart broken by Bo Hamilton, so when his sister comes to him telling him that she is missing he doesn’t want to help at first. Why should he care if she has gone missing but his sister works for her and could be effected by things and she has had a rough time of things. He also knows that there is know way that Bo would run off with the missing money so something must have happened.

A killer is  on the loose up in the crazies where Bo is and he has found her and isn’t not going to let her go. Jace will have to rescue her and find a way to get away from him. They could both be in for a bumpy ride.

Lone Rider is good romantic suspense with a sexy cowboy at it’s center. I really love both Bo and Jace and felt they made a great couple. Like I said in the first books review this is a spin off series from the Beartooth, Montana series but it makes for a good series on it’s own. I just started listening to the Beartooth, Montana series myself as I wanted to after reading Wild Horses earlier this year.

I love the secondary characters and I feel really sorry for the things that Buckmaster is going through with his race to the Presidency. With the things from the last book to the things in this book, but he is a very strong man. I also loved Emily which is Jace’s sister, she has had a hard time of it and is turning her life around.

I can’t wait for Lucky Shot to come out later this year as I really have enjoyed this series. If you love sexy cowboys, and suspenseful romances then you need to give this series a try!

Comes out in Nov.
