Binge Watchers #13~East of Everything #bingewatchersclub

January 17, 2018 Memes 6

Binge Watchers meme is every other Wednesday and it allows you to make it however you want so it’s easy for you. You can make list, share episodes or your take on the whole show, etc. Hosted by myself and Michelle at Because Reading.

So I was browsing Acorn TV and seen East of Everything and it sounded kind of interesting. I had liked the other Australian Drama I watched 800 Words so thought I would give it a try. It’s pretty good. I binged the first season and need to get to the second season.

It’s about travel writer Art Watkins (Richard Roxburgh, Rake, Moulin Rouge!) is forced to return home to Broken Bay when his mother dies and dictates in her will that he reopen the family resort along with his estranged brother, Vance (Tom Long, SeaChange).

Art’s life gets turned upside down when he comes home. He missed his flight which turned out to be a good thing but it also makes him miss seeing his mother before she dies. His brother is not his biggest fan and his son wants nothing to do with him. His brother Vance has a business deal going and it involved their mothers property. Vance thought he was going to get everything because their mother told he she redid her will. He already had a plan in motion but his world is turned upside down too when he finds out that he is not getting everything. Their mother decided that Art and Vance needs to work together on the family resort and has to run it for at least one year before they can think of selling.

Art is supposed to go back Bali (I think) to finish a book he is working on about traveling, but he is also trying to reestablish some sort of relationship with is son which isn’t going very well. He is also having some feelings for his ex-girlfriend (not his son’s mother) and just when things start going pretty good with her his girlfriend calls and says she is flying in to do a story about the area…oops. 🙂

It has some really funny moments and made me laugh a lot. There is this one girl, Lizzy, and she is just so squirrelly and weird but you can’t help but like her…lol. It only ran for two season so that is a bummer as I really like it but normally happens if I find something worth watching…lol.

If you have Acorn TV you should give it a try. 🙂

Well, I forgot again. Maybe I’ll be able to hit the next one. This sounds like a fun watch. I’ve been hung up on forgotten horror series (which usually ran one season and which Shudder loves to show) lately. I may have to look into Acorn – I know you love it!

That looks interesting…bummer it’s only 2 seasons but I hope they have an ending to it. That bugs me when they have a great series and then it just ends. Like they really just couldn’t do one more to allow closer! 🙂 lol

I never heard of Acorn TV, I will have to take a peek at it. Since I really want to get rid of cable but my husband wont let me.
