War's Passion by Lia Davis

Narrator: Michael Ferraiuolo

After losing her parents in a brutal attack from a monster straight out of her nightmares, Gwendolyn Preston tries to pick up the shattered pieces of her life. Along with her best friend, she moves to a small fishing village on the coast of Maine to find a new life away from the nightmares that haunt her. Just when she believes her life could go back to normal, the deliciously dark and handsome Markus Sullivan disrupts her hopes to grieve in peace.

Markus drew the short straw when it came to being the liaison between his father, Ares—God of War—and his brothers. When he discovers that the earth bound demi-gods, known as the descendants, have banded together to start another rebellion against the gods, it becomes his number one priority to stop them.

That is until he meets Gwen, the granddaughter of Aphrodite, and the next target of the descendants. Together, their path is rife with passion and danger. It might take more than the son of War to win this battle…Gwen herself.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it enough to want to continue the series. It was a quick, fun listen.

What I thought of this book.

This is a new series about Ares son’s and they are dragon shifters so I think that is pretty cool. Gwen is a demi goddess and has been traumatized by the death of her father at the hands of a dragon.

Now she has dragons protecting her, but she realizes the differences between these brothers and the one that killed her father. Aphrodite’s is Gwen’s grandmother and ask Marcus to protect her.

Not long after Marcus meets Gwen he realizes he has found his mate but there is a curse put upon them by Zues when it comes to relationships. The romance between Marcus and Gwen seem a little happen a little fast to me but I do get the whole mate bond thing.

Marcus’s brother Gary is the evil Dragon trying to awaken demi gods powers so he can make an army to fight the Gods. He needs Gwen because of her powers.

I really enjoyed the story and I liked the dragons and can’t wait to get to know more about each brother. This will be a series that you need to follow from book one because even though the relationship has closure at the end the battle with their brother Gary and other things that happened is not. So I am guess it will carry on into the next book.

Over all I liked this one and can’t wait for the next book in the series and if you like books about shifters then you might enjoy this one. It’s a fun quick read or listen. 🙂

The Narrator:

Michael Ferraiuolo is the narrator for this one and I really enjoyed his voice. His female characters were a little off by over all I thought he did a decent job. Wanted to give you a sample but I couldn’t find one I could upload to soundcloud. 🙁 So you can check it out at, if you want to check out his voice. I am still getting use to guys reading romance novels to me, but I think I am starting to like 🙂

  1. Hahaha I know what you mean about male narrators – it can be a bit weird, but some of them are fantastic. I think I’d like this – dragon shifters is a total plus!

  2. Dragon-shifters are pretty cool, and I think that the fact that Gwen starts out not liking dragons might make the story even more interesting.
Male narrators doing female voices can be a little off at times, but I’m glad you enjoyed this, Stormi 🙂
