The first book in an original mystery series featuring twenty-eight-year-old Veronica Mars, back in action after the events of Veronica Mars: The Movie.

With the help of old friends — Logan Echolls, Mac Mackenzie, Wallace Fennel, and even Dick Casablancas — Veronica is ready to take on Neptune's darkest cases with her trademark sass and smarts.

What I thought of this book.

I have been a long time fan of Veronica Mars and I loved it when they came out with a movie and had  the characters all grown up. It was great going back to Neptune. So I was really excited to see that this one was narrated by Kristen Bell! It was just like watching a new episode!

If you haven’t watched the movie then I advise you to watch it before reading this book as it takes place just a little while after the movie. Veronica’s father is recovering from incidents in the movie and Logan is back on a Navy ship and their relationship amounts to a few video  chats when they have time.

Veronica decided that being a PI is what she is meant to do but her father is not very happy with that because he wanted her to be a lawyer and get on of the PI business.

When two teens go missing during spring break it’s up to Veronica to find them because as usual Sheriff Lamb isn’t doing his job. She tries to retrace the steps of the first missing girl trying to find evidence of what might happen. There are a lot of different leads to what might have happened.  The second girl ends up being Veronica’s mothers stepdaughter which was a little hard on Veronica. It was hard for her knowing that her mother went out and got a new family, but it’s nice to see her sober now.

Thousand Dollar Tan Line is a great whodonit and it takes you on a ride through a lot of characters as Veronica tries to find out what happened. I love how it ended because it wasn’t anything like I thought it was going to be.

If you are a lover of mysteries and you love Veronica Mars then you need to get this book!

The Narrator:

Kristen Bell is Veronica Mars so I knew this would be amazing with her as the narrator. You can tell that she is an actress and use to changing her voice because she did fantastic on the voices, though some of her male voices were a bit off, but over all she did great. Found this Youtube sample of the audiobook!! 🙂  I am so disappointed  that Kristen is not reading the second book in this series because the new narrator sucks, so next book will have to be a read not a listen. 🙁

You are welcome, I don’t think it would have been as enjoyable if you don’t watch the movie first cause it mentions stuff that was in the movie and you would be a bit confused. The movies is great as well. 🙂

I loved this audiobook. Kristen Bell’s narration was flawless. I mean she is the character of Veronica. It’s sounds weird to say but it gave the book a real legitimacy. Plus I was really impressed with how great her voices for Keith, Mac, and even Wallace.
