Police Chief Luke Granger's witness to a murder, Amy Griffin, has been on the run for years. Her family thinks she was murdered eight years ago, but Amy chose to accept a life in the shadows in order to protect her sisters' lives. Now unveiled secrets about their father have thrust the sisters into the public spotlight. The man who wants Amy dead now sees her sisters as the way to locate her. Luke and two of his homicide detectives are determined to stand in the way. They are each falling in love with a different sister, and it's become a personal mission to keep them safe. But chances are that at least one of them will fail, and facing the future will take a faith deeper than any of them currently knows.

First Thoughts: Dee Henderson is one of my favorite inspirational romance suspense authors. The Witness was fast paced and suspenseful and I really enjoyed it.

Amy Griffin has been on the run for the last eight years and she is really tired of running. Her two sisters thought she was dead and it always seems like someone ends up dead when she comes out of hiding. Then she witnesses another murder and meets Police Chief Luke Granger and he wants to help her but she disappears again.

Then a family secret comes out and she has to come back and gets back in contact with Luke, she doesn’t trust easily but she doesn’t have a lot of choices.

Amy is a fighter and makes a great heroine. At times she struggles between doing the right thing and protecting her family. After being on the run from some really dangerous people and not knowing who to trust it takes a lot for her to ask for help, but she also knows her limits and chooses her allies carefully.

Luke is a great hero and has his flaws, but he relies on God to help him through things. He finds himself fiercely protective of Amy but also knows that until she thinks she is safe to come out of hiding, things will be on her terms. He likes her enough to let her make her own choices and just hopes that he can keep her safe when he needs too.

Luke is not the only one sweep into the world of the Griffins as Marsh was already dating Tracie when everything starts happening and Conner meets and falls for Marie as soon as he meets her. They all try their best to keep everyone safe but there is a bit of a sad spot in this one and it will take all their strength and faith to get through it.

I really enjoyed all the characters and secondary characters. I think anyone who loves romantic suspense would enjoy this novel and even though it is a clean romance and Christian there is not a heavy religious tone to it at all. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Narrator: Lynn Brooks

Lynn did a great job with this book and I really enjoyed her voice. She didn’t have perfect male voices but they were done well enough.

I also really enjoyed how the audio was done with this book. When the police used their radios it always sounded like it and really made the story come more alive. Made it a lot more fun to listen two. I really enjoy how Brilliance Audio does each CD and can’t wait to listen to more from them.
