FIRST IN A NEW SERIES
Sarah Grayson is the happy proprietor of Second Chance, a charming shop in the oceanfront town of North Harbor, Maine. At the shop, she sells used items that she has lovingly refurbished and repurposed. But her favorite pet project so far has been adopting a stray cat she names Elvis.
Elvis has seen nine lives—and then some. The big black cat with a scar across his nose turned up at a local bar when the band was playing the King of Rock and Roll’s music and hopped in Sarah’s truck. Since then, he’s been her constant companion and the furry favorite of everyone who comes into the store.
But when Sarah’s elderly friend Maddie is found with the body of a dead man in her garden, the kindly old lady becomes the prime suspect in the murder. Even Sarah’s old high school flame, investigator Nick Elliot, seems convinced that Maddie was up to no good. So it’s up to Sarah and Elvis to clear her friend’s name and make sure the real murderer doesn’t get a second chance.

What I thought of this book.

This is another new cozy author for me and I love the name so of course I had to give it a try!

Sarah has opened a store called Second Chance and takes old things and makes them like new again then sells them. One day a cat came into her life and she didn’t really want him but he seem to adopt her and she named him Elvis.

She was teaching a class and one of her older friends Maddie didn’t show up for it so after the class her and some another older lady when to check up on her. They found her out in the garden sitting there in shock with the man she was dating lying on the ground dead.

Maddie soon becomes the prime suspect in the mans murder, because they find out that he is a con man and has taken a lot of ladies monies. Sarah knows that Maddie didn’t do it but her friend Nick who works for the ME isn’t as easily convinced. Some of the older ladies decide they are going to find the killer and Sarah becomes a part of their group to more or less keep an eye on them. They start out as Charlies Angels and end up Charlotte’s Angels and boy does Sarah have her hands full.

This was a real fun cozy and had me chuckling a few times. I enjoyed the mystery and trying to figure out who it might have been. Elvis has a knack for telling when someone is lying and comes in handy.

I liked Sarah she is a great MC and I enjoyed all the secondary characters as well. I can tell this series is going to be fun with a bunch of old ladies wanting to be detectives….lol.

If you like cozies then I am sure you will enjoy this one!
