What I thought of this book.

Angie owns a The Sweet Dreams Bake Shop and her lease is coming to a close as the owner of the lease doesn’t want to redo the lease. So Angie is really bummed and only has a few weeks to figure out what she is going to do.

It seems that some of the patrons of her establishment only want her to make their drinks and one of them is an old professor that Angie really likes. When the professor ends up dead Angie learns that she is in the will. The professor has left her her very large house and 75,000 dollars to help her do any renovating.

Then the coroner tells the police that the Professor has been poisoned and Angie is on the suspect list because she now owns the house and a lot of money. She had a chance to poison her since she made her coffee drink that morning.

Angie must find out who killed the professor to get herself out of hotwater and try and figure out how to renovate her new home into a place she can serve sweet treats. She also invited her sisters to come home and they will all live their and each has a different job they can run from the house. (Jewelry story, bed and breakfast)

The Sweet Dreams Bake Shop was a quick listen at only 4.5 hours but it still had a good mystery. I really liked the characters in the story and can’t wait to dive back in to Sweet Cove and learn more about them.

If you enjoy cozies then I think you will enjoy this one as well. Short and sweet is sometimes nice.

The Narrator:

I really like Carla Mercer-Meyer and I think I like her voice better here than on the other book series that I listen too. She did a great job.
