Ellery Adams serves up a mystery that's a real peach...
Ella Mae LeFaye's Charmed Pie Shoppe is wildly popular in Havenwood, Georgia--which is not surprising since Ella Mae can lace her baked goods with enchantments. The shop's extraordinary success seems destined to continue when Ella Mae meets an engaged couple who hire her to handle the dessert buffet at their wedding. But Ella Mae has a lot on her plate. She is also searching for the origin of her magical powers--and hoping to determine if the spark of attraction she feels for the handsome Hugh Dylan is authentic or just her new abilities gone awry. Then Ella Mae discovers a high-standing member of the community dead, and a wedding guest becomes seriously ill at the event she's catering. Now she'll have to use all her sleuthing skills and culinary talents to prove her pies don't contain a killer ingredient . . .

What I thought of this book.

This is an interesting  cozy series and a little bit magical to boot. 🙂

Ella Mae has a pie shop and she found out that she comes from a magical background and that she can bake emotions into her pies, and some times that can cause some fun sites to see. She wants to know more about her magical background but her mother and aunts are a bit tight lipped about it until one day she has her awakening.

Not only is she finding out about her magic ancestry but the importance of having someone take over the tree (this is why I should review right after I read as I can’t remember the name) anyway it’s dying and someone magical has to take over and there are some ladies in line but then someone starts killing them.

Ella Mae has to find out who the killer is and in doing so learns a lot about her history and who they are rivals against and who has magic and who doesn’t. It’s really hard to explain without giving away to much, but it’s a really different kind of cozy and I really am liking this series.

I really like Ella Mae and her mother and aunts they are a lot of fun and great characters. Because of how it ends I am really curious to see how the rest of the series goes and can’t wait to get my hands on Pecan Pies and Homicides! 🙂

If you like your cozies with a bit of magic and fun then you will really enjoy this series. It’s my favorite series by this author so far! 🙂

The Narrator:

C.S.E. Cooney is one that I some times like and some times I don’t, but I still think she is a good narrator. This series is one where I enjoy her narration. I think so far I have liked her in all but one series I have listened to her in. 🙂 She does great with Ella Mae.
