Also by this author: The Awakening (Outage #2), Vengeance (Outage #3)When newlyweds Abby and Rob awaken, the power is out, the neighborhood is covered in snow, and the house is freezing.
They'll soon find out that the storm is the least of their worries.
Somewhere outside, something else is lurking. Waiting for the chance to strike...
Outage only comes in audio as a box set but I decided to review each book separately.
What I thought of this book
Outage is a werewolf horror novella and is part of a series.
Abby and Rob wake up in the middle of the night to a blizzard and they are not prepared. It seems their neighbors are already leaving, but by the time the new couple tries to leave they are stuck in the snow.
Abby sees a neighbor just standing outside and it is strange so she has Rob go check it out while she is waiting in the car trying to get warm. All of a sudden the body of her husband slams into the window of the car and she is in a fight for her life.
Their is a beast out there in the snow and Abby tries her best to escape it and in the process runs into a older couple who are leaving the blizzard and she gets a ride with them but the beast is still after them.
This story leaves you with kind of a cliffhanger that makes you want to check out book two right away.
This was a different story and I was surprised at the ending and now very curious as to how it will go on in book two and three. It’s to short to really get a good idea of the characters and how it ends is probably why. The next two books have more to do with the man who stopped with his wife to pick up Abby. You will just have to read it to find out why. 🙂 It may not be what you think. 🙂
If your looking for a quick read for Halloween then you should try this one but beware you will want the next book after you read it. 🙂 Grab book one now as it’s free or try and win the box set in the giveaway below.
Narrator:
This was my first book by the narrator Troy Duran and I really liked his voice. He has a great voice for horror novels.
My favorite horror kind is the riddle one like SAW.
I was never a fan of Saw, to gory. 🙂
I have the ebook of this; I picked it up as a freebie a while back. Bummer it’s a cliffhanger but good to know.
Yeah, this is a series that you really are going to want all the books to find out what happens next. 🙂
I love creature books and werewolves are one of my favorites. I’ve read this one and you are right, the ending is something else and makes you want more. I’d love to win!Great review, Stormi:)
Hope you win, it’s been a wild ride even if a bit unbelievable at times…lol.
I have seen the book around and love that cover. Glad it was good, but I am so tired of series where you have to read two three four…..books to get to the end. Will I read it? Have my fingers crossed for the set.
Yeah, some times that drives me crazy too. I know a lot of horror type series though sort of leave you hanging cause I guess it’s hard to leave a closed ending when creatures are still coming at you. 🙂
[shudders] I am so not a horror fan, so I think I will pass on this one. I’m glad you enjoyed it, though!
Ha ha yeah horror is not for everyone! 🙂
Creepy…I am curious about this boxed audio set and you are right these are perfect for this time of year.
It’s been pretty fun on audio!:)
Oh I don’t like that the newlywed husband gets killed. Not a read for me I am afraid but thanks for sharing 🙂
