What I thought of this book.
Murder Most Howl is the third book in the Paws and Claws Mystery series.
Holly is excited that her grandmother has finally gone on vacation and leaving her to run the Sugar Maple Inn, a place for humans as well as their pets. Wagtail is throwing a murder mystery weekend for tourist and Holly is helping. Many of the tourists will be staying at the inn with their dog or cat.
There are clues all around for the tourist to find but it seems someone is also leaving notes about some of the people in Wagtail, and then Norm ends up dead. When Holly starts to look into what has happened she finds out that Norm might have been the one sending the other notes around town in the same color envelope as the clues, but she also finds out some other not so good things about him. It seems there are a few people around that wouldn’t care if he was dead.
It gets more critical to find out whodunit after one of the tourists is injured and it looks like it could be the same person who killed Norm.
Holly has a lot of things going this time with running the place on her own without her Grandmother, but Birdie is still there to keep an eye on her and that she does…lol. She is not afraid to be outspoken on what she think about how Holly is running things. Holly is also hoping to get a bit of a romance going with Holmes but that didn’t seem to be in the cards for this one. The poor woman can’t catch a break. As always the side characters are a lot of fun, though Birdie always stands out as one to remember…lol.
I would recommend it for anyone who loves cozy mysteries and animal lovers.
Jeanie Kanaley does a good job with this series and I am now used to hearing her voice when it comes to this series.
