Though Ivy has recently passed on, the members still meet regularly at her fiber and fabric shop, The Weaver’s Cat, which Kath has now inherited. But that’s only the first in a series of surprises when Kath returns to the small town of Blue Plum, Tennessee, to settle her grandmother’s affairs. There’s been a murder, and it turns out her grandmother was the prime suspect. Before she can begin to clear Ivy’s name, Kath encounters a looming presence in the form of a gloomy ghost. It turns out the specter has just as much interest in solving the murder as Kath. So, with a little help from the members of TGIF—and a stubborn spirit from beyond—she sets out to unravel the clues and hook the real killer.…
What I thought of this book.
This is my first book by this author and I think I am going to enjoy this series.
Kath come back to Blue Plum to bury her grandmother and to get her estate settled and finds out that her grandmother was under suspicion of murder. She can’t get into her grandmothers home because for some reason a guy named Matt has changed the locks because of a break in. She finds out that that guy was suppose to have inherited the house from Em who recently died. The man her grandmother is accused of murder.
One of her grandmothers friends let’s her stay at a house, that ends up being the house that Em died in. In this house is a ghost who cries cause the thinks she killed her Em. Kath also reads a letter from her grandmother tell her that she was a witch and not it’s passed down to her. She doesn’t believe it but there are some strange going on and not just the ghost.
Meanwhile she tries to find out what is going on as she doesn’t believe that her grandmother was a killer.
The Last Wool and Testament has a lot of fun characters in it that made me laugh. From her nutty twin cousins who are extreme busy bodies to the elder lady who was acting as receptionist and Kath’s lawyers office. Everyone is a hoot.
I do see a potential love interest for Kath but I was kind of glad it didn’t have any romance brewing in the first novel.
If you like cozy mysteries then I recommend you try this series because it was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to listen to the next one. 🙂
The Narrator:
Emily Durante was really good as the narrator for this book. It’s the first time I have listened to her and while she is not a favorite she is good.

I love books with humor. I’ll have to add this to the TBR. And hope it doesn’t virtually crush me. lol

This isn’t a genre I would normally read/listen, but it sounds interesting. Great review.

This sounds like a great book with all the fun characetrs! It can be nice to not have the romance start building in the first book, aside from them getting introduced then.
