The deceased is the vicious wife of the husband-and-wife team hired to promote the event—and the husband turns to Jill for help in clearing his name. But did he do it? Jill will have to be very careful, because this killer is ready to put her out of the running…forever!   “Murder, dirty politics, pirate lore, and a hot police detective: Guidebook to Murder has it all! What I thought of this book.

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series and I am always glad to come back to it for a new installment.

South Cove is having their first annual 5 k race as a fundraiser for the local preservation society. Everything goes great except for the dead body on the trail. Sandra is part of the husband and wife team hired to promote the event. They came into the first meeting arguing so it’s really no surprise she is dead. But who killed her? Was it the husband or someone else.

There are also some vandalism going on and Harold from the train shop has been vandal more than once and he has asked Jill to find out who is doing it because the local police are to busy with the murder. Jill’s boyfriend Greg is the detective on the case and she know he will not be happy with her sticking her nose in on any of his cases. Especially since she has a knack for getting herself into trouble.

Even when Jill tries not to get involved in a murder case she gets involved in one…lol. Jill is a fun character and I love her and Greg’s relationship. He has to be a pretty great guy to put up with all her antics, though I think she might give him a few grey hairs with all the trouble she ends up in.  Although I love the main character it’s the secondary characters in cozies that can make a break a series to me and this one has some great characters. Aunt Jackie is a hoot, Toby puts a smile on my face as I can picture his pretty boy good looks flirting with the coffee ladies, Josh makes me roll my eyes and I am not sure what Jackie sees in him, and many more fun characters. 🙂

I really can’t believe I am all caught up on this series so now I have to wait for the next one to come out! AHHHH 🙂

If you love cozy mysteries then I recommend you try this series out as it’s a lot of fun!

The Narrator:

Starting one of these cozies is like visiting an old friend! That is how it feels when Susan Boyce’s voice came on as I love her narrations and this series! 🙂
