Are you ready for a grizzly kind of love?
His mother would have beaten him to within an inch of his life, if she knew Travis had the hots for the town doctor, but he couldn't help it.
Dr. Jess, a redhead with a few years on him, was his soulmate. His inner grizzly knew it. He knew it. Suspected she did as well. But he did have one dilemma standing in his way.
Her husband.
Talk about inconvenient.
Good thing Travis was tenacious. Even if he has to travel half a continent, and brave some hot sands, subsist on crappy food and survive attempts on his life he won't give up until he wins her heart.
Or dies trying.
Jess made a mistake. She married too young, to the wrong man. Problem is, hawks mate for life, and murder is against the law. To add more insult to the situation, her mate won't even attempt to be a husband. It seems he isn't interested in keeping his vows, nor is he coming home anytime soon, so when the chance arises to confront him, she takes it. However facing him changes nothing.
Freddie doesn't want her...but Travis does.
And oh how she wants him too. Wants and yet can't have him.
However, her marital problems aren't the only issue. Their pursuit of the nefarious being behind the attacks on their town is being sabotaged by treachery. When Jess and Travis barely survive an ambush, she can no longer deny her love for the rascally bear. But will they survive enough to see if it's possible for her to rectify a wrong and take him as her mate?

What I thought of this book.

So I put this one off for a long time cause I am just not a fan of younger men and older women troupes, but I am glad I finally finished this series.

All through the Kodiak point series there as been this mysterious shifter who some call the Master wreaking havoc on the shifters of Kodiak point. So I was glad to get to the end to see who it was and there was a lot more action in this one as all your favorites go hunting for this shifter.

Then you have the “cub” Travis, he is the youngest in the group and the older shifters are always giving him a hard time. Though he is a bit cocky and normally deserves all the punches he takes from the older ones. They don’t hurt him to bad as they are all afraid of his mother (home I just love!).

Travis always wanted to join the army like the rest but his mother wouldn’t let him, she guilt him into staying. But when Jess, the older lady that his bear wants, decides to go with the others he decides he is going too. Jess’s is still married and Hawks mate for life, but her husband who went to war never came back and it wasn’t because he was killed or wounded, he is just a jerk.

Travis thinks going with them will give him the time he needs to persuade Jess that he is the man she needs.

Travis is fun, he has been in a few of the other books and was always the baby of the clan, but he proved to be much more than that during this story. He proved he might be young but he was smart, respectful and determined. Jess, is a doctor and really didn’t like being drawn to the younger man, especially since she was married. Since Hawks mate for life she couldn’t divorce her husband, but Travis makes her wonder if about the whole mate for life thing as she shouldn’t be feeling things for another man.

I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would but like I said I think it was more because there was a lot more going on than just a romance. It was a wrap up to a series and that is what I loved the most.

Eve Langlais is one of my favorite authors so I would recommend this to anyone who like paranormal romances. I also think it should be read in order as there is a story with in the story that is spread throughout all of them.

The Narrator:

Chandra Skyye, took some warming up to when I first started this series but now I am use to her and her voices and I really enjoyed her narration.

  1. I felt the exact same way you did. I’m not a fan of the large age differences, no matter which way they go. But this series is more than just the romance. I also loved Travis so much. He was a lot of fun. I also agree with you about the narrator. I really didn’t like her in the beginning, but I’ve gotten used to her. I still don’t love her, but I’ve gotten to where I like her. I’ve even started the Bitten Point series narrated by her.
