Everyone wants a piece of millionaire Bennett Marshfield, owner of Marshfield Manor, but now it's up to a new curator Grace Wheaton and handsome groundskeeper Jack Embers to protect dear old Marshfield. But to do this, they'll have to investigate a botched Ponzi scheme, some torrid Wheaton family secrets-and sour grapes out for revenge.

First book by this author and I enjoyed it. Can’t wait to dig into book two.

What I thought of this book.

Grace grew up around Marshfield manor and has always wanted to work there, and she finally has become the assistant curator for the manor. Then the head curator Abe is found killed in the manor and all sorts of problems fall to Grace. She might have wanted that job but she would never kill for it.

She has to try and figure out who might have the most to gain by killing Abe, or was it even Abe who was the target as it could have been the owner of the house Bennet Marshfield. She has her hands full trying to keep that old guy from getting into trouble.

The more she digs into things she finds some interesting secrets that surround Marshfield and actual have to do with her family.

Grace Under Pressure was a nice light cozy with some interesting characters. Grace gets thrown a lot of stuff but she proves to work well under pressure. I see a potential love interest brewing so I will be curious to see if that happens or not.

There was only one thing that I feel I need to mention for those I know who don’t like certain things. Grace does at some times seem to think that the police are a bit incompetent and not doing their jobs properly. Mainly I think it’s just because Grace has more of the inside scoop on Marshfield than the police, but sometimes I did want to smack her and tell her to straighten up.

Over all, I enjoyed this cozy and I have the next two books in the series coming to me soon so I can’t wait to dig in to more of Marshfield manor and see what trouble Grace can get into. πŸ™‚

The Narrator:

Emily Durante has a really nice voice for cozy books. I have listened to her before with other cozies and she just has the right fit. πŸ™‚
