On the grounds of Marshfield Manor, Civil War re-enactors have set up camp. And what a dedicated troupe! One of them has really been killed...

What I thought of this book.

Grace has her hands full again as she has officially taken over Abe’s job though she hates how she came by getting it. Now the manor is hosting a Civil War reenactment and nothing can seem to go  smoothly.

Two women come to the manor wanting to talk to one of the civil war actors but they don’t want to be disturbed yet because they are setting up and practicing. And they cause a big scene because they want to taz the Zachery, then later that same guy punches David because he thought he was Jack (David’s brother). He accused Jack of being the one who killed his brother a long time ago.

Grace is a bit overwhelmed with what is going on and did Jack really kill some one, her and Jack haven’t officially gone out yet but there is an attraction. It seems like every time they try and get together something happens and now this.

Then Zachery is found dead and David and Jack are both suspects because of the altercation earlier. It has Jack stressed out more for his brother than himself. David is not real stable because of some events in the past which will come to light as the story progresses.

There is a new cop introduced and everyone calls her Tank cause she pretty much just runs you over…lol. She is helping the two cops from before and it gets pretty interesting. Grace doesn’t want to get involved but with Jack being suspected she can’t help but want to find out what is going on.

Grace Interrupted was a very good mystery and I really enjoyed it. It was a quick listen so I imagine it would be a quick read. I really like the characters and in this second book we are starting to learn a little more about them. I like Grace she knows how to keep her cool and has been very understanding concerning Jack. I liked learning why Jack is like he is and why he has a hard time getting any other job than being the landscape/gardener for the manor. I kind of felt sorry for Jack and I hope things start looking up for him.

The other characters are a lot of fun too and I look forward to the next book in the series.

If you like cozies then you will probably enjoy this series.

The Narrator:

Emily Durante is a great narrator for cozy mysteries and has done a few now and I really enjoy her  voice.
