When it comes to crafting happily-ever-afters, the Agency is the best in the land of Kingdom. The Fairy Godfather Grimm can solve any problem—from eliminating imps to finding prince charming—as long as you can pay the price…Working for Grimm isn’t Marissa Locks’s dream job. But when your parents trade you to a Fairy Godfather for a miracle, you don’t have many career options. To pay off her parents’ debt and earn her freedom, Marissa must do whatever Grimm asks, no matter what fairy-tale fiasco she’s called on to deal with.

Setting up a second-rate princess with a first-class prince is just another day at the office. But when the matchmaking goes wrong, Marissa and Grimm find themselves in a bigger magical muddle than ever before. Not only has the prince gone missing, but the Fae are gearing up to attack Kingdom, and a new Fairy Godmother is sniffing around Grimm’s turf, threatening Marissa with the one thing she can’t resist: her heart’s wishes. Now Marissa will have to take on Fairies, Fae, dragons, and princesses to save the realm—or give up any hope of ever getting her happy ending…

What I thought of this book.

Marissa was traded to Grimm who is a Fairy Godfather in order for him to save her sister. She has been working for him for a while now and really wants her freedom. She is tired of setting up princess so they can have a happy ending, she wants her own happy ending.

Her assignment was simple she was suppose to go and met a prince and then jilt him so that Ari could come in and fix his broken heart and live happily ever after, but something goes wrong. She got the wrong man, she thought he was magical but he wasn’t and the prince she was suppose to find (who is pretty arrogant) ends up getting kidnapped.

Then the fae want what they think she stole and are wreaking havoc and then there are werewolves she has to fight. Then there is a new Fairy Godmother who is trying to take Marissa from Grimm. Really there is a lot of things going on in this book and at times it was a bit confusing. The one thing that it did have going on was some good action.

Free Agent is a different kind of fairy tale story with some really interesting characters.

Marissa is full of spunk and grit which I like in a female character, but she could be a little annoying at times too. I felt sorry for her because she is pretty much chained to Grimm and has to do what he want’s till he frees her which he doesn’t seem to want to do. She find someone that she likes and could have her happy ever after and it gets totally screwed up, but there is still hope for her.

Ari is the second rate princess who you wouldn’t think would become friends with Marissa but Marissa sort of feels sorry for her and together they try and figure out what is going on. Ari has a very wicked mother!

Overall, I enjoyed it. There was a few roll your eyes moments but nothing that deterred me from enjoying the book. If you like urban fantasy/fairy tale type stories they you might enjoy Free Agent.

The Narrator:

C.S.E Cooney does a good job with this novel. She is not one that does much with voices but she does a great job and is easy to listen too.
