Coming home doesn’t always solve things … but it does pave the way for second chances.
Take one deadly bite and, bam, a man’s life is changed forever, or so Caleb discovers when a loss of control leads to him joining the military and leaving everything behind.
Time goes by … years spent silent and alone, cut off from those he loves. Until it’s time to come back, a scarred veteran, in many ways broken and looking for a meaning to his life. Perhaps it's not too late to right some wrongs. Make amends. Kiss a certain pair of sweet lips one more time.
If only Renny would damned well let him.
It doesn’t take Caleb long to realize Renny’s just the thing this croc needs to bring him back to life. Yet, what if he loses control again? He doesn’t want to take nibbling on her thighs to a whole new level.
Too bad, he can’t stay away, especially not when he discovers her secret. Add in a strange creature stalking the townsfolk and there is no way he’s leaving her alone.
Years ago it just about killed him to leave, but Caleb’s a changed man now. A darker kind of animal, and this retired soldier is ready to kill so he can stay.
Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.

What I thought of this book.

Eva Langlais has become one of my favorite authors so when I get a chance to grab up one of her books to listen to for review I am quick to grab it.

This is sort of a spin off from Kodiak Point as Caleb is from the same military unit, but can be read without reading the other series though I highly recommend the other series as it is great and my favorite. 🙂

Never read a book before with a croc shifter so I thought this was very interesting, who would have thought a croc could be so sexy.

Caleb ran off when he was younger and left behind  a broken-hearted Renny because he thought he had done something bad. Now he has returned and he is still in love with Renny, but she is determined to have nothing to do with him because of how he broke her heart.

Then Caleb finds out that the little boy she has is his own and he is determined to try and when her heart back and get to know his boy, but there is something out there that is threatening his son.

Some sort of Dinosaur type thing is stalking the boy and has him and his mother terrified. You don’t want to come between this Croc and his son as you might get bitten.

I really liked this though it was a bit short, but it still had a cute story with a bit of suspense which I have come to like from this authors stories. I have always liked second chance romances.

Caleb is a broken man, his time spent in the military wears on him, plus the reason that he ran away in the first place ways heavy on him. He was a lovable character. Renny is a non-shifter born into a shifter world but she is still pretty tough especially when it comes to protecting her son. Because she knows about shifters it is easier for her to not be scared of Caleb’s croc side and even though she tries to not want him when he returned she was still in love with him. Cute, sweet story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and if you like paranormal romances then I think you should give this author a try.

The Narrator:

Chandra Skyye was the narrator of the Kodiak Point novels so I have gotten use to her voice and she did a pretty decent job with this novel as well.

I really loved this book too. I’m not usually one for second chance stories, but this one worked for me. I have read one other croc shifter (another Eve book from her F.U.C. series, which is also a lot of fun). I’m excited for the next book in the series. I also hope that Caleb’s brother, the snake, gets a book. I’ve never read a book with a snake shifter. LOL
