Welcome To Bliss, the Bridal Capitol of the Midwest
Natalie Castellano practically has it all—beauty, brains, and a stellar reputation. Because childbearing hips and exhaustion lines are totally sexy. And knowing when to let go of her family’s failing bridal boutique is smart…right? Plus, who doesn’t want to be that divorced mother in Bliss?
With all she has going for her, it would be selfish to secretly wish for love too. Who needs it? Definitely not Nat. But perhaps she does need to take her wedding dress-obsessed little boy somewhere else for a fresh start.
CJ Blue is on top of the world. At least, he was last week when he stood on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Now, he’s in an empty confessional, hiding from the hullabaloo of a family wedding. Aka the depths of hell.
His meddling relatives want to poke at the deep psychological wounds he supposedly bears from being a twenty-something widower. But he doesn’t want to talk, he doesn’t want to be fussed over, and he certainly doesn’t want another chance to fail at love. He just wants to get through this wedding and back to his adventurous life.
But when a dark-haired, wounded-eye beauty invades his sanctuary and whispers a secret he was never supposed to know, he gets swept up in her life. Is he brave enough to tackle the adventure of life in Bliss, or will he walk away from the only woman in the world who could offer him love, forgiveness, and a second chance?

What I thought of this book.

Not heard of this author but Karen White the narrator asked me if I would like to review the audiobook and it sounded like it might be cute so I decided to give it a try. I am really glad I did because even though I don’t read a lot of contemporary romances I do like those in a small town setting and listening to them now and then breaks up my genres so I don’t get in a rut.

Welcome to Bliss, the most happily married place on earth and where everything is focused on being married. So if your divorced you might want to skip this town. Natalie should be one of those leaving town, she is divorced and has a little boy. She is also the owner of Bliss Bridal and Marian aka the Queen General so to speak is making her life a living hell because of it.

Natalie has one thing on her mind and that is to make sure she doesn’t run in to CJ Blue because she blames him for breaking up her marriage, even though he has no clue he did and it really wasn’t the case.  Her marriage was on the rocks before that not so great Knots fest where her decline happened.

Now it’s time for the Knots fest and CJ Blue is in town for a wedding with all of his family and they are  both hiding in a confessional and she blurts out all the things she has on her mind not knowing that he was the guy on the other side. Then they are caught by the QG and she makes Natalie’s life even more of a living hell because CJ Blue is off limits. She wants him in the Knots Fest to represent his hero wife died while serving her country and all he wants to do is hide.

They are not suppose to be drawn to each other and they are both carrying around some baggage that is not really their faults but ways heavy on them. They both learn a lot about moving on while trying to maneuver in Bliss where it seems everyone knows everything.

I liked both Natalie and CJ but at times I really wanted to smack both of them upside the head because they drove me crazy. Natalie for taking crap off Marian, and CJ for just being…well male…lol.

Blissed is a humorous and fun with some smoldering fun but not a lot of heat for those who like a romance with not to much bed room play. It made me laugh and parts towards the end made me want to cry a bit (I hate crying!!) but overall it was a cute, sweet story to tug at your heartstrings.

It does look as if the author changed the title from The Husband Games to Blissed so I don’t want someone to think it’s a totally different book if they have read it under the other title.

The Narrator:

Karen White is a favorite and I always enjoy her narration. 🙂
