24 hour read-a-thon update #3

October 20, 2018 Misc. 3

It’s the Dewey 24 hour read-a-thon and so I will be reading all day and coming in now and then with an update on this post. I never do the whole 24 hours but I give it a good try. I am to old for staying up all night…lol.

The books I finished:

Update #1

It’s now a little after ten and I finished House of Falling Embers, not a wowing read but it was okay. Just glad it’s done as I struggled with it a bit at the beginning.

So I have read roughly around 117 pages. I may start Dr. Jekyll but I also might start Due or Die a cozy I got from the library on overdrive and my time is almost up and I really want to read it! Oh also now and thing listening to Tommyknockers by Stephen King ( am not even going to remotely get that one finished but I wanted to listen to something while in the shower so I put it on and I am currently 48 minutes in to the 27 hour audio.) 🙂

Update #2

31% into Due or Die and I am really enjoying it. Been a little distracted with things like lunch and shower taking! And now it’s about time to fix supper where did time go.

I think I might squeeze in a goosebump book so i feel a bit more accomplished…lol. Then go back to Due or Die.

Update #3

My kindle was nearly dead so I recharged it so I can work on Due or Die, but in the meantime I read Stay out of the Basement by R.L. Stine which was an interesting one…lol. I think I am going to go for one more goosebumps book before going back to the cozy mystery. Makes me feel more accomplished…lol. So up next is The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight. 🙂

Final update

I made it till about 1:30 am and I couldn’t stay awake any longer even with all the coffee I drank! I finished The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight and then went back to Due or Die and made it to 70% before giving up cause I was to tired, bummer. I really wanted to finish it but with church in the morning I need sleep. 🙂 Overall, I think I did pretty good! 🙂

Total pages: 655

Total finished:3

Challenge completed:

Draw it out!

From the Hardcover pic on Goodreads for Due or Die by Jenn McKinlay. 🙂 Not bad for less than five minutes…lol.

I can only read so long. 🙂 Ha ha this readathon would kill me. Or just put me to sleep. Good luck though!

Cute pic. Due or Die looks fun. 🙂
