I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I got lots of sewing things so now I have no excuse not to try and make a quilt like I keep saying I want too…lol. I also got a $25 GC for amazon…books here I come….lol. I ate way to much but it was so good!!!! 🙂

If it wasn’t for bad luck I would have no luck at all…I totally almost forgot to write this post as my desktop monitor went out on me. I just replaced the computer tower and now I have to try and find a cheap monitor. UGH. I don’t mind my laptop but I just prefer my desktop computer.

Weather wise it was so nice on Christmas and then came the rain and the rain and the rain…shall we said flood..tired of rain. Now today is only 38 degrees but feels like 17 and I am freezing! 🙁 All next week is going to be cold…I want my Christmas weather back. 🙁 For all you who like the cold you can take it back….could even snow tomorrow!!!! 🙁 🙁

I had a desktop for many years, and when it died, I bought a laptop, which took a while to get used to. But now I wouldn’t go back….when a desktop needs repairs, it is hard to take it in, too cumbersome. I always had to have a repairman come to the house, and it was expensive.

But everyone has a different comfort zone with computer stuff. My daughter does everything from her iPhone, which I could never do….

Enjoy your week…I love the look of several of those cozies, like Death in the English Countryside.

    MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I really enjoy Paige Tyler’s books! She was a new discovery for me in 2015 and I haven’t been disappointed!
The weather here has been crazy! I’m in Ohio and its been in the 60’s and rainy. And its suppose to keep raining for a few more days before it gets COLD. The crazy weather is killing my sinuses!

I hope you find a monitor. I’m a laptop person myself. It is because I prefer to sit on my sofa as I work when I’m at home. At work, I still have a laptop, but it is on a docking station with two monitors, so it acts like a desktop and I love it. I need the two monitors, especially the larger size than my laptop monitor for what I do at work.

I am one of those people who likes cold weather. The past two winters is too cold with actual temps way below zero. I don’t like the fact that it is 56 degrees in late December. I did wake up to a monsoon this morning. There is a river running through my back yard.

Here’s to a great end of the year and a happy new year.

Awesome stack of books. You got a few freebies that I hadn’t seen before, but have me curious. I hope you love all of your new books.

I have a sewing machine but I never used it since I can’t seem to figure it out. Maybe one year I will take the time to do it.

Isn’t that how it always happens you get a new computer and the monitor dies. I feel your pain 🙂

It’s chilly today but the last few days I hated it.

I hope you have a great week, Stormi! Happy New Year! ox

I’m very attached to my laptop, but hope you find a monitor soon. You picked up quite a variety of books this week. I am finally able to read a tad bit more since Christmas finally slowed down. My grandmother was an awesome seamstress, but I don’t think much wore off on me. Happy holidays!

  7. Charlie @ Girl of 1000 Wonders

If my ex-fiance and I were still together (thank God we’re not), I’d ship you one of his monitors! We were together three years and he NEVER used the THREE that he had. I got pretty damn tired of packing and moving them every time we moved (total of three times, the fourth move he was on his own with his unhappy self in that bed he made to lie in). I always have liked working at a desktop better than a laptop – for the bigger screen!

We also got nice rain throughout the night. It is chilly here, so I decided to switch the thermostat to heat.

It sounds like you had a good Christmas (besides the monitor thing). I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

  8. Maree

Some interesting looking reads! I’ve had both a laptop and desktop. I have a desktop now and I prefer it, I think. Have a great week 🙂

  9. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I’m a desktop user too so I feel your pain. We haven’t had cold weather but we’re getting more than our share of rain! There was lots of flooding on Christmas day and they’re talking more rain tomorrow. I’m very glad we live up on a hill! Great books! I’m really hoping to get through Graham’s Krewe books this year and I either have or want all the cozies you got! Have a great week and happy New Year!

  10. Lola

Yay for the amazon gift card! It’s always nice to be able to buy more books! I feel so stuffed from three evenings of christmas dinner and was happy to eat something normal today.
That’s annoying your desktop monitor died on you. I also have a dekstop and my screen died earlier this year, it still worked, but everything looked weird. So I had to buy a new one. I hope you can get a new screen soon. I much prefer my desktop to a laptop as well.
Are you enjoying Death Crashes the Party so far? I hope you’ll have a great week!

  11. Kathy

I switched to a laptop when our desktop crashed and it took me a while to get used to it. I use a mouse because I was getting so frustrated with the fingerpad (or whatever its called lol). But now I love using the laptop so I can sit in my bed and write up stuff. I’m so jealous you got a giftcard! I didn’t get any giftcards but I’m still buying books. I hope you have a Happy and safe New Year!!

  12. A Voracious Reader

You and me both. I hate typing on a laptop. Though I guess I could just plug my keyboard into one. lol I’m tired of the rain, too and we’re supposed to get it for the next few days. Blerg. Though we are nowhere near that cold yet. Ooooh…you reviewed Trick Twenty-Two. I’ll skip the review for now. I’m waiting in the library queue. I was like 130 and now I think I’m down to 80 or so. LOL

    Happy New Year, Stormi!!

  13. Laura Thomas

I love my laptop. Easy to take in for repairs and to travel with.

We’re getting some bad thunderstorms today. I saw the sun peek through for a few minutes yesterday. I’m with you about no more rain. Supposed to cool down as we get into this week. Now, I’m thinking I’d rather have the rain. LOL

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Stormi.

  14. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

I hope you can get a new monitor soon. I much prefer my big monitor and wireless keyboard, and I miss them when I’m away from home. I like my laptop, but nothing beats a good ergonomic (and readable) setup!

  15. Melissa Lee

Sounds like you had a nice Christmas. Too bad the weather is crappy now though.
Will you be posting a picture of your quilt when you finish it?
Happy New Year and happy reading to you.
