So my father went fishing this week so it really felt like I was getting a vacation. I love him and all but some times we just really clash. He lives with me and for the most part we get along but some times you just need a break and so it was nice..lol. So besides doing some cleaning I didn’t do a whole lot, was kind of lazy. Didn’t read near as much as I should have with him gone..lol. He normally has me on the go a lot and so it was nice to just sit around the house and do nothing. 🙂
It has been so hot here, my poor garden is dying..heat index is like 105 or more!! UGH. So I have nothing to report here was to hot to have fun..felt a little sorry for dad out in the non-AC camper fishing…lol.

So after reading Phantom Evil and loving it I had to grab the second book in the Krewe of Hunters series and then Felicia from the Geeky Blogger Book Blog told me that I really need to try the audio. So since it was only a few dollars to add audio I did. 🙂

Awesome haul of books. I hope you love all your new books. Sorcerer to the Crown looks amazing.
Grace @ Books of Love
Thanks, and Sorcerer to the Crown does sounds good too so I hope it is!
For some reason the link on my blog took me to last week’s post but I eventually found you!!!
Keen to hear what you think of the new Linwood Barclay!
Glad you got a bit of time alone last week!
Deb
Sorry about that, I think I had that link out next to my other one making sure I put the right books in the spots..lol. I bet I grabbed it instead of the new one, glad you still found me. 🙂
OOh nice haul! Lots of new to me ones here! I think I read Any Given Doomsday years ago, but I can’t remember much about it! Hope you enjoy all the lovely new reads!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, I hope I like Any Given Doomsday but sounds like it must not have been good enough to remember..lol.
Hey there,
I’m Ronnie from Paradise Found. I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award. You can read about the details here:

Have a nice day! 🙂
I wish my husband would take the kids fishing for a weekend, that would be so lovely 🙂 I know what you mean sometimes it’s just nice to have a break people.
So it’s 105 by you that means no weeding this week 😉 I left my garden for the weekend and had the girl downstairs water it, I would bet you she never did, I am praying it’s not dead when we get home.
You got a lot of books, I hope you enjoy them all!
Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! oxox
Yeah, having a break from people is nice. Yeah, I haven’t weeded much and it’s getting wild, so doing my garden different next year..this one has been a learning experience..lol.
I am happy to report the garden was not dead. 🙂
Enjoy your haul! I am curious about Trouble is a Friend of Mine. Thanks for sharing…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Trouble is a Friend of Mine was a cute YA mystery with a bit of a Sherlock Holmes type character. A nice light read.
It has been hot here too! My large fern is burning up, so I’m moving it indoors. I don’t water until after dark, but the heat is still taking its toll.
And here’s to you – sometimes it’s nice to just be a little lazy. I felt the same way this past week. 🙂
Oh, I hope you fern makes it, it’s sure is burning up my garden. 🙁
Yaya I love that you are using better click to tweet plugin. It is awesome, itsn’t it?
I hope you have a wonderful week! Happy reading 🙂
Here’s my weekly wrap up
Michelle @ Book Briefs
Yeah, giving a try, wasn’t sure how to work it at first but I figured it out…lol. This was a test run! 🙂
Everybody needs a break sometimes. 105 ? Yikes. that is hot. We’re not that bad but it’s been pushing 90’s, and it’s close today. Gonna be hot all week.
You got a ton of new books, hope they’re all good!
Yes, very hot. I have to bring my big dogs from outside in, but they do pretty good. 🙂 I hope all the books are good too! 🙂
Broken Promise went to a lot of bloggers last week. 🙂 It looks good.
I imagine your father enjoyed the time away as much as you did. Pity you weren’t able to get more reading done but sometimes a break from reading is good too.
The Krewe books are good, especially the more recent ones. 🙂
I really enjoyed the first one so I can’t wait to get to all the other Krewe of Hunters books! 🙂
Everyone is getting Sorcerer to the Crown!!! I must investigate this right now 🙂 You got The Veil, too!!!!!! That’s awesome!!!! I wanted that one AND you got it in audio – fabulousness! I didn’t know Tantor sent actual physical discs! That’s cool!
It’s nice just to be in the “quiet” of an empty house for a while…
Yeah, I noticed a lot of people have Sorcerer of the Crown too..lol. Yeah, I am excited about The Veil and Tantor usually does mostly downloads so I am surprised that the last two hauls from there have been MP3s. 🙂
Another Heather Graham book. You are tearing through them! Our weather is very similar. I try to swim in the early evening and early morning and hide in the AC in between. LOL Enjoy your alone time:)
Yeah, I really liked the first book so I couldn’t help but grab another..lol. I wish I had a pool to swim in. 🙂
I’ll be interested to hear what you think of the Heather Graham audio. I tried one and while I really liked it it was abridged so I spent the whole time obsessing about what they could possibly be leaving out. I’d like to retry it. I definitely understand what you mean about your dad. I have a similar issue with my mother. Thankfully I don’t live with her so we get along a lot better now and when she’s driving me crazy I can avoid a phone call or two. I can also sympathize with you about your garden. Mine is looking so sad and it won’t cool down enough for the tomatoes to ripen! Have a great week!
I can’t wait to get to the Heather Graham book! I am told I will be crushing on the Narrator..so we shall see..lol. The house is in my name now that Dad has retired so I am kind of stuck with him..lol. Oh well, it’s not that bad. 🙂
Wow, what a lot of books, hope you enjoy reading them!
Thanks I hope I enjoy them too. Got a lot of first in series books..lol. 🙂
My mother-in-law lives with us so I understand how you feel. She’ll be gone for a month so it is a nice break! I need to catch up on Heather Graham’s books, they all look good. Have a great week!
Oh that will be a nice break. I am enjoying the Heather Graham books, not sure what took me so long..lol.
Oh yeah, I understand that. I mean, I love my son, but it really is like a vacation when he leaves for a few days. But he’s getting older now to where he’ll move out, an then I’ll want him back. lol. I want to start the Krewe of Hunters series too. Maybe I should look into the audio.
Yeah, some times we needs a breather..lol. If you start KoH I hope you like it too! 🙂 I was told I would have a narrator crush on the guy who does the narration..lol.
I downloaded Bound by Duty and splurged on the audiobook since it was so cheap. I’ve been listening to audiobooks more and more on my drives to work. I don’t have a stockpile of them like I do physical and eBooks. Our library selection isn’t so great.
Have a good week, Stormi,

Second Run Reviews
I have been listening to a lot of audios lately and I really need to be reading my books, especially the review ones..lol. Just on an audio kick..lol. I hope you enjoy your new one. 🙂
Wonderful book haul! Have fun reading them! I feel for your pain with the dying garden. California has been in a drought for over two years, and everyone’s plants are dying. The state is even paying people to rip up their yards to plant desert friendly plants. I hope you can figure out how to save your plants!
Yeah, I really feel sorry for California, things are real bad there. 🙁
Nice haul, Stormi! I’m very curious about what you’ll think of The Veil. I really enjoyed it, and of course, I hope you will, too.
Enjoy your new additions.
Sometimes it’s nice to have a break even from our nearest and dearest…
Great book haul! I recently tried Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters series for the first time and I can tell I’m in trouble. LOL! I have two that I’ve picked up on sale, including book #1, but it’s going to cost me a bundle to get through all of them – but I really liked the most recent one (not yet out) so yes, I’m going to have to read the rest. 🙂
