The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Howdy everyone! The beginning of the week started out okay then it kind of when downhill as dad has been having dizzy spells, the doctor said he was severely dehydrated. I try to make him drink lots of water but he likes his soda and they told him that it will make him dehydrated. He is also having problems with when he lays down getting dizzy and his eyes doing weird things, so they gave him exercise for vertigo, but he can’t do them very good without getting dizzy. He is suppose to call them back on Monday. Just makes me worried as he is 74 and I am afraid of him falling when he is dizzy. 🙁 So a bit stressed.

Other than that not much to report on. Watched a little more Downton Abbey, determined to make it through all the season before I get distracted…lol. I am horrible about starting a show and not finishing.

Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • The Sweetest Thing – I watched an interview with this author on youtube and her talking about this book made me do it…lol. 🙂

Books read last week

  • Revenge For the Duchess – This was interesting and not much romance, but a fun story that had me wondering if the two were actually going to end up together…lol. Kind of felt a bit like Beauty and the Beast meets Pride and Prejudice. It’s from 1984. 🙂
  • The Penderwicks on Gardam Street – Okay so this is the second book in the Penderwick series and it was okay but I am just not a day to day contemporary book reader and not sure I will continue with the series.
  • Jane Eyre – My favorite classic and it was fun to reread this one, but I did the audio and I have to say I think this is one classic I prefer reading to listening but still gets 5 stars! 🙂
  • Lion Down – I think this might be my favorite series by Stuart Gibbs though this one got a little preachy on the save the wildlife thing, but over all it was good. I have two more to go to finish the series.
  • Wildfire – I really like this series!! This is book three in the Hidden Legacy series and so good!
  • Mouseheart – You know I like my mouse/rat adventures and can’t believe I have never read this one! It was cute.
  • Thanksgiving in Paradise – Finished up a cozy mystery series and I think this ended nicely.

Currently Reading

  • Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun – Still working on this one. I am just really slow with print books. It’s okay.
  • Neverseen – Slowing making my way through this one. I loved book one but for me this series has gone downhill since. This is book 4 and nothing is happening and it’s 672 pages! The books in this series just continue to get larger and if they are not going to have any action to them I might be done.
  • The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries – Why did I just start a long running series!!! 41 books so far in this series but it sounded so fun. The housekeeper solves all the inspectors cases and everyone thinks he is really good at his job!
  • The Tuesday Night Survivors’ Club – Just verily started this one but I enjoy the authors works so hope I like it as it’s a new mystery series about a cancer survivor’s book club.

What might be up next

  1. I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he gets hydrated and is able to stay that way. I also hope his vertigo calms down. I have vertigo and have to do exercises for it as well. They do make me dizzy, but luckily my exercises are done when I’m sitting down. Hopefully, your dad’s exercises are as well. Even if they do make him dizzy, they should help if he keeps doing them. It may be helpful to have someone with him when he does them to keep him from falling. Good luck and lots of love to you and him.

  2. 41 books! I had no idea there were that many Mrs. Jeffries stories, I’ve seen I think the Christmas ones but had no idea.

I’m sorry to hear about your dad. Dizzy spells and vertigo are no fun, I hope he feels better and they can help with those.
