The Week In Review #392

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

The wacky weather continues as we had lots of sleet and this coming week will now be in the 60s…lol. UGH.

So I got a kindle paperwhite during the black friday sell last year, so not even had it 4 months and it broke. I wouldn’t work and said kindle needs repair so contacted amazon and told them what it said and they are like okay we will send you a new one…I was like okay…sort of thought they would tell me how to fix it…lol. So after I get my new one I will send them my broken one…at least they were cool with sending me a new one. I am missing it already…lol.

So my Retro Romance Readathon is coming to a close and I have done really well. I have read 9 (trying to get in 10 if I can finish one more…lol). So not to bad considering most of them were print books (found audiobooks for a few) that I own and I don’t read print books as fast as ebooks.

Next up March Mystery Madness so I am changing up my romances for mysteries (with the exception of a few Harlequin intrigue for a little romance) πŸ™‚

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • The Curious League of Detectives and Thieves – This looks like a fun middle grade.
  • Undercover Couple – Romance books are getting to me couldn’t help getting a new intrigue…lol.

Books read last week

  • Morning Glory – I enjoyed this one (even watched the 1993 movie which they totally left out a lot of major things, but it was enjoyable too as it had Christopher Reeves in it.)
  • Hidden Rapture – Of all the retro romances this was my least favorite. πŸ™
  • Never Say Die – I liked this one!
  • Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation – Of all the Stuart Gibbs series I have read I think this is my least favorite mainly because I am not a fan of a kid genius being a thief.
  • The Beast of Devil’s Rock – This was an okay creature feature type book.
  • Exile – I enjoyed this but I have a feeling this series is going to get old quick with the books being so long!! This could have been cut down it was 568 pages and the next book is even longer!!!
  • To Love a Dark Lord – Mixed feelings about this one. It had kind of a beauty and the beast feeling to it but I really wanted to smack Killoran most of the book!

Currently reading

  • Hidden Star – Hoping to fit one more retro romance in before the month is over….can I do it! Probably not…lol.

What might be up next

  • Killing Floor – My first March read for March Mystery Madness.

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. That’s cool they’re sending you a new Paperwhite. 4 months… yeah that’s not very long! And your Mystery Madness event in March sounds fun. I love mysteries lately.

  2. Yeah our weather here in MO is insane! I think we’re getting up to 70 a few days. Which only tells me that summer will be early and it will be unbearable! Lol. It’s funny you mention reading slower with real books and faster with ebooks…as I am the TOTAL opposite! Lol.

Nice new reads! I hope you enjoy them once you get to read them!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. So glad Amazon was good with sending you a new Paperwhite. I had a Paperwhite for years and years until it finally got a little too quirky and I replaced it. I love the feel of the new ones but don’t think they’re as well made as the older ones but that seems to be the case for most things I guess. You must be why I wanted to reread the Star series! All of a sudden I decided I simply must reread them and got all 3 from the library. I read Hidden Star but have the other two left to read. Hope you’re having a great week.
