What you might have missed on my blog
So this week I canned and froze some foods. This is my first time attempting to can my own food, so I do hope when we test one later that they taste okay..lol. Other than that it’s been way to hot to do much of anything, I so wish we had a pool! So this week I didn’t get a whole lot read, but that is okay.

Lately I have been on a horror kick..lol. I enjoyed The Girl in the Well, so of course I had to pick up The Suffering! And then I seen 13 Days of Midnight, on ..I believe it was Michelle at Because Reading and well had to see if I could get it and I got approved. 🙂
Audio review books:

I was working on this post when FedEx came and delivered these beauties to me, so they are still in their plastic..lol. Boy is my audio TBR list growing..lol.
From Narrator:

Don’t normally read these types but I figured it was time to give one a try and the narrator emailed me asking if I would try it as it was his first narration. So we shall see..lol.

Didn’t get much reading done last week so still working on Deception, I put Nightlife on the back burner cause it was boring and grabbed up Phantom Evil and I am on page 76 so it’s going well so far. Haunted House is the audio I am just starting on my computer and Zombies in Love is on my phone for when I am cleaning or outside. 🙂

Enjoy the horror kick! I’m not a huge fan of horror though guess it’s a genre I haven’t read much of other than early Stephen King stuff. I didn’t dislike it, things just stay in my head and one never wants that when one is trying to sleep… 🙂
Stormi
Yes, it’s a genre and I have been a fan since I was about 14 or so and started reading Steven King..lol. Though now days it really takes a lot to creep me out. 🙂
Michelle @Because Reading
I have been loving the horror stuff lately too! and yes that was my fault 🙂 I got approved also this week.
I have always wanted to can food but I just don’t know how to do it. I want to do more jams and jellies and condiment type stuff. It looks like fun, might look into it in the winter-ish months.
You got a lot of books this week! I hope you enjoy them all!
Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! oxox
Stormi
I thought it was you who had corrupted me and twisted my arm into getting that book..lol. 😉 I do hope we both enjoy it.
Well, I didn’t know how to can till I bought the Balls book of Canning and Preserving and read the instruction and gave it a go..lol.
laura thomas
I’m surprised by all of the horror reads! Didn’t think you read them and can’t wait to read what you think. And I see a few I’ll be checking out. Hot and steamy here too!
Stormi
I have a large pile of the freebie ones from your site..lol. I love them but don’t read them as much as I should. 🙂
Bea @Bea's Book Nook
Wow, you got a lot of books! 😀 And I see you were one of the winners for the Sharp Shootin’ giveway, nice. 🙂 I’m not a big horror fan myself so I’ll probably skip those reviews but yay for finding more books to read. 🙂
I’ve never tried canning, was it difficult? Was it food from your garden that you canned?
Stormi
I couldn’t remember where I entered that contest…lol. Yeah, horror is not for everyone..lol.
It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be but it is a bit time consuming.
Charlie @ Girl of 1000 Wonders
I wish I had a pool too! Rent houses suck. 🙁 In a few years, though! My great-grandmother used to can everything they grew. There was an entire wall in their house full of various canned items. I was too little to learn from her before she passed, and no one seems to have paid any attention to how she did things or cooked. Deception looks good – I might add that to my Amazon wishlist! Have a great week and enjoy your reads!
Stormi
I got plenty of room for a pool, just they are so expensive..lol.
My grandmother use to can too and I wished I would have paid more attention but I was young and it didn’t seem like anything I would be interested in and now here I am trying to save money by canning..lol.
Grace Fonseca
Awesome stack of books. The Suffering looks really creepy.
Grace @ Books of Love
Stormi
Thanks, it does look pretty creepy and I hope it is. 🙂
Terri M., the Director
What did you end of canning? It looks delicious.
It was hot here in Iowa this week as well so I’ve been moving slow and not feeling motivated. I hope that changes this week! If not the heat, the motivation part.
Terri M., the Director
Stormi
I canned green beans and salsa. I hope it taste as good as it looks..lol.
Terri M., the Director
Yum, salsa!
Tracy (@Cornerfolds)
Oh, canning seems so complicated! I hope it worked for you!! And I’m so glad you got your books! 😀 I still need to read The Girl From the Well! It looks pretty awesome and I’m not sure why I still haven’t gotten around to it… Have a great week!
Stormi
It does seem complicated and it is a long process but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.
A Voracious Reader
I’m sure your canned goods will be fine. 🙂 My mom canned every summer when I was growing up. We had a huge garden. Well, I did grow up on a farm, so we were pretty well set for food. Hubby & I said we need to start canning. I wish we could get more to grow, but we just don’t get enough sun down here in the woods. 🙁 Hope you have a great week!
Stormi
I hope they turn out okay, fist time canning and all. It’s a learning process, my grandmother use to can but I never paid attention back then.
Heather @ Random Redheaded Ramblings
Some good books there! I hope you enjoy them all!
Stormi
Thanks, I do hope I enjoy them all as well. 🙂
Kathy
I’m not a big horror fan but I do want to read The Girl in the Well. Hopefully I can sleep at night lol.
I’ve never canned food before but they do look good. I hope they taste good.
Have a great week and I hope you enjoy all your new books!
Stormi
The Girl in the Well was kind of creepy but I didn’t think it was to bad so hopefully you will like it.
This was my first time canning so it was a learning process and I hope it all turns out okay. 🙂
Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
I love Heather Graham! There’s always some flaws but I love the storylines and settings and all that enough that I can get over them pretty easily. You’re my canning hero! I’ve done some freezer canning with tomato sauce but that’s about it. We have 2 huge peach orchards near us and I’d love to do some freezer jam. Thanks for the inspiration!
Stormi
I don’t know why I waited so long, I so loved the first one! I went and grabbed the second one on ebook and can’t wait to dive into it soon. 🙂
It has been interesting canning, I would like to do some jams too. I am jealous you have a peach orchard close by..lol. That is my favorite fruit. 🙂
Lola
I have never canned my own food, I hope it turns out well! It sounds fun to can food yourself. That cat mystery book looks fun! I hope it’s good! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
Stormi
Not sure if canning could be considered fun…lol. It does take a while to process things, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. 🙂
Greg
You have an eclectic mix of stuff there. Hope the reads are good. I think it would be fun to can homemade salsa and stuff like that, to have on hand, but haven’t ever done it.
Stormi
I do like a variety of genres..lol. You should try it, canning wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Your canned food looks great! I used to make jam, but haven’t in years. Maybe next summer…
Horror isn’t my thing, but what fun that you’ve gotten a bunch of new books in that genre! And I spotted a few books in that lineup that I would enjoy. The Art of Sinning is on my nightstand right now.
Have a great week!
Stormi
Are you enjoying The Art of Sinning, or not started it yet and it’s setting there waiting for you to get to it. I have a few audio reviews ahead of mine..errr. I kind of want to grab it now though…lol. 🙂
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I haven’t started it yet; it’s waiting for me. I am in the middle of like three different ARCs – I’m pitiful.
Tressa @ Wishful Endings
I grew up canning, so I know how much work it is. Good for you! I hope they all did turn out. Looks like you added some fun books. I hope you get more reading in this week than last. Thanks for stopping by!
