The Week In Review #384

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So we had car problems again that led to going nowhere for Christmas or two days after it because the car wouldn’t start. We had to pay a wrecker to take it to our mechanic, then buy a starter and so now broke again. I swear I was so ready for 2021 to be over!! We are now broke again. I swear as soon as we save up a bit of money something happens as if the universe wants us perminantly broke. πŸ™Β  Hope 2022 is going to be better!!

Hope 2022 is a better year than the last for everyone! Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

NOTHING – I am hoping to not be grabbing as many review books this year…lets see how this goes…lol.

Books read last week

Most of these were on audiobook. πŸ™‚ Most of these I probably listed atΒ  2x speed.

  • Courting Can Be Killer – I love the Amish Candy Shop series and this is a spin off from that series called Amish Matchmaker and it so fun!!!! Set in the same town as the Candy Shop so you get characters from it in this one.
  • Marriage Can Be Mischief – This is the latest book in the Amish Matchmaker series. I do recommend you read the Amish Candy Shop series first because this one can spoil a part in the newest Candy Shop one.
  • Murders and Metaphors – Been doing my best to catch up on series, this is book 3 in the Magical Bookshop series.
  • Fearless – This was a decent middle grade book about broadway. The only book this week I read with my eyes…lol.
  • A Plus One For Murder – One of my favorite authors has a new series out! It’s called a Friend for Hire and it was a lot of fun!
  • Deeds of the Deceitful – A series I thought I was caught up on snuck out a book on me and as soon as I seen it on audio I grabbed it. πŸ™‚
  • The Christmas Basket – Because why not one more Christmas book even after Christmas…lol. It was decent but probably not one of my favorite of her Christmas books.
  • Mary Poppins – This was a reread that I read yesterday as part of a readathon one of my friends is hosting. The movie is so much better!!!

Currently reading

  • The Count of Monte Cristo – Buddy read with a group of friends on discord and wish me luck as I am reading this baby all in one month! Just started it yesterday and plan to read a bit on it each day. So far it’s not bad and seems easy to follow. I am listening to it on 1.5x speed and following with a book.
  • Blindsighted – This is a reread as Barb and I buddy reading the series and I had already read the this one but it had been a while. I am also listening to this one but on 1.75x speed.
  • Strangeville School is Totally Normal – 12% into this and it reads very middle grade and is goofy fun so far.

  1. I think it’s a conspiracy sometimes. πŸ™‚ We had car trouble before the holidays (a couple weeks ago) and it was EXPENSIVE. Anyway, hope you had a nice New Year! πŸ™‚

  2. I can relate to the universe wanting to keep us broke . . . I am so sorry about your car troubles. It looks like you read some good books this past week at least. I hope you have a better week this week! Happy New Year, Stormi.

  3. So frustrating about the car. Things do seem to conspire against us sometimes. Yay for a no new book week! I don’t want too many of them but a few are always good to mix in. I wasn’t a fan of the Mary Poppins book either though I love the movie. Have a great week!

  4. I hear you on the car trouble/money trouble – it’s a never ending battle! I hope your car will behave moving forward and give you a chance to not feel so broke.

I hope you’re enjoying The Conte of Monte Cristo – I read that in high school for French class (in the original French) and I remember really enjoying it. But who knows if I would still like it… I find revisiting books does not always fare well.

Hope you’re having a great week!
