The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.
A relative slow week and not much to report. I have done something to my back and it’s not getting better so I may have to make a trip to the doctor if it doesn’t get better soon. 🙁 So I haven’t been able to do any outside work to get ready for the fall/winter time which sucks.
I tried the first episode of One Murders in the Building which is a new show on Hulu with Martin Short and Steve Martin, it’s kind of a mystery comedy and it was okay, but nothing I am in a hurry to watch…lol. Anyone else try it? I also watched My Spy on Prime and it was pretty funny. It wasn’t anything new or different really as it had a big guy getting bossed around by a nine year old while still trying to act tough kind of reminded me a bit of Kindergarden Cop but with a CIA agent. 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!

Books I have added
Netgalley
- Scale and Sensibility – So I seen this I believe on Tammy’s blog Books, Bones and Buffy and I had to grab it…lol. I am so curious about an regency historical with dragons. 🙂
Books read last week
- Ghost Girl – I really enjoyed this MG horror book, it had a few fun creepy parts in it.
- Cat Got Your Crown (Kitty Couture #4) – This one wasn’t bad and it finishes up a series.
- Double or Muffin (Merry Muffin #7) – This was okay, and catches me up on a series.
- The Cider Shop Rules (Cider Shop #3) – This one was very enjoyable and it’s from the same author of Cat Got Your Crown (that is her pen name) and there was a cameo of Lucy and Jack from that series having fun at the festival in this one! I love when authors do that…lol.
- All the Devils are Here (CI Gamache #16) – I have to say this one wasn’t to bad. I enjoyed it a lot more than some of the other recent books in this series. For me this series went downhill after book 8 but I still read it. 🙂
Currently reading
- Murder at the Royal Botanic Gardens – One of my favorite series so I am enjoying it.
- Stabbed in the Baklava – Not a huge foodie cozy person but it’s the series readalong in the Killing Time with Cozies discord I am in and it’s okay.
- The Case of the Gilded Fly – Not sure if I am going to like the writing style but reading a bit on it at a time.
- Spy School Secret Service – This is just a fun goofy series. 55% into this one at 1.75x on audio.
What might be up next
How was your week? What did you get?
Hope your back is better soon! And hopefully we’ll both enjoy Scales and Sensibility. She writes a lot of middle grade fantasy too, so there’s lots to read if you like her style. Have a good week Stormi!
Sorry to hear about your back. That’s no fun. Hope the doctor can help if you decide to go. Those shows aren’t familiar to me. We don’t have Hulu so that explains the one, but the Prime one is another I’m not familiar with. I’m so bad about looking for new shows on the streaming services. I find if I have time, I’m picking up my book instead of watching something.
Nice new read too! That’s a new to me one but I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Scales and Sensibility *does* look like fun. I was almost tempted when I saw it on NG, too. Haha. Hope your back fels better soon. Back pain sucks.
Oh no hope your back feels better soon! Hopefully nothing serious. One Murders does sound kinda fun. Botanic Gardens looks great too.
