The Week In Review #367

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

This week sort of went by really fast and I don’t think I really accomplished a lot. I did start cleaning up on the yard getting ready for the colder season…blah. My garden is almost gone so I moved my containers that I use for some over to the side as I put them in front of the porch when in use but now I need that area for wood that I stack on the porch. Then my tomatoes where dead so I pulled them up and got that area cleaned up.

Not much else to talk about so happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Sense and Second-Degree Murder – The second book in the YA Jane Austen Murder mystery series sort of retelling of Jane Austen books.

Books read last week

  • Cajun Kiss of Death – This was bittersweet as it was enjoyable but also the last in one of my favorite series. I really loved how the author wrapped it up so that you knew it was the ending of a series. She has a new series coming out next year so I hope I enjoy it as much as I have this one!
  • The Dover Demon – It was okay but just not what I was thinking it was going to be.
  • Matchmaking Can Be Murder – This one was a lot of fun!
  • The Box in the Woods – I really enjoyed it!
  • Murder With Peacocks – This was an old school cozy (1999) and it was okay but a bit to busy for a first in series.
  • They Never Learn – It was okay but it had some content that I am not a huge fan of reading about. Though I am sure a lot of people would enjoy it.
  • Witch Way Did He Go? – Least favorite of the series so far.

Currently reading

  • The Wheel of Fortune – I made it a little bit farther into this one. 18% into this one.
  • Ghost Girl – I am enjoying this one so far though there is one character that is a bit annoying. 45% into it.
  • Murder at the Royal Botanic Gardens – I am enjoying this one so far but only 4% into it but it is a favorite series.
  • Cat Got Your Crown – It’s okay and it will finish up a series! 🙂 50% into the audiobook.

What might be up next

  1. Sounds like you’re keeping busy at least. I’ve actually been surprised by our drop in temperature. It’s still a little on the warm side for me at times, but 80s is a far cry better that upper 90-100s! It’s shocking for September really!

Nice new read! That’s a new to me one but I hope you enjoy it once you get to read it!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. We didn’t have much luck with tomatoes but we did manage to salvage a few peppers haha. Not a banner gardening year at the Hill household lol.

Those YA Austen retellings look fun.

  3. I’m kind of excited for the cooler weather. It’s been so hot and humid here. I haven’t tried growing tomatoes in years, but this year I have a couple habanero plants that have been giving me more peppers than I know what to do with

  4. I know, not looking forward to the colder weather either. Blurgh. My garden sucked this year so I cleaned it up when we moved. I’m contemplating some fall/winter plants but not sure if I have the time to make them successful.

    Have a great week.

  5. I think you kind of have to get used to the Donna Andrews series. I liked the first few I read but was kind of take or it leave but as I’ve gotten to know all the characters and with each one I read the more I love the series. I hope you have the same experience! I have the Andrea Penrose on my TBR and really need to keep going with the Julie Anne Lindsey. I read the first one and really enjoyed it. This did not seem to be the summer for most people I know with gardens. It went from cold and rainy to blazing hot and rainy neither of which are fabulous for tomatoes. Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
