The Week In Review #352

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not really much to chat about as nothing noteworthy has happened. We had a few chilly days and then a couple decent days in the 60’s. It’s close to the middle of May we shouldn’t be having such cold temps and I worry for my plants sometimes but I am not replanting so it will be what it is. Now we are getting lots of rain and storms. I don’t mind the rain if it leaves about the bad storms. Although I am not a fan of rain all week I need sun!

I was on a booktube live last night! ๐Ÿ™‚ The Beachbum Bookworm is where I was live last night, I was on there for about an hour and a half if you want to check it out…lol. I am trying to get use to being live it’s easier with people! The video is called Killing Time with Cozies: Knockout challengeย  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDn4HCNJgGVMDJodfQ7ZVsQ/videos

Other than that I don’t have much to talk about at least that I can remember…lol.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • Death in Castle Dark – I have enjoyed this author as Julia Buckley, so I am curious to try her pen name and it sounds good. It’s about an actress who is excited to be in a murder mystery until real murder happens.

From Publicist/Publisher

  • Pizazz – Simon and Schuster was kind enough to send me an ARC copy of this and it was cute.

Books read last week

  • Bigfoot in the Bronx – I almost had this one finished last week. This one was okay but not exactly what I was hoping for.
  • Better Than The Movies – Been working on this one a while…lol. I enjoyed it, but lots of teen angst that got on my nerves at times.
  • The Vine Witch – Found this on KU and was curious and it wasn’t to bad. I am curious enough to try the next book. Listen to this one on 2x speed.
  • Undercover Kitty – One of my favorite series even though I am not a cat person…lol. I have done well with keeping up with this series. Listened at 2x speed.
  • Whispering Rock – Barb and I tackled another book from the Virgin River series. I really like this series it’s so light and fluffy and so not like the tv show. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Listened at 1.75x speed.
  • Pizazz – I just got this book in the mail from publicist and started it and then had to finish…lol. It was cute but easy to read because it has a lot of illustrations.
  • Quicksand Pond – Wanted a quick listen while out in the garden and found this on Libby. It was okay.
  • Crime and Poetry – This was actually a relisten because I was on a youtube live yesterday! We discussed this book and another one. I will link it in case you want to check it out…lol. ๐Ÿ™‚ I couldn’t remember a lot about this book so quickly relistened to it on 2x speed.

Nice days spent outside allows for more book listening!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Currently reading

  • Blood Heir – Another buddy read with Barb! We loved the Kate Daniels series and we liked Julie and this is her spin off series. I am enjoying being back in the world and getting some new characters but also some old characters from the other series.
  • Blood like Magic – This is an ARC and I am trying to get a start on it because it’s almost 500 pages! Right now only 50 pages in but it’s a bit slow and dragging, so I hope it picks up!
  • Murder By Page One – As if I need to be starting new cozy series but here I am…lol. I am a sucker for a bookish cozy! Listen to this one on 2x speed.
  • Death Bee Comes Her – I have this as an eARC and I should have already read it but I didn’t get to it and now it’s the Killing Time with Cozies book club pick for this month so need to get it read before the 22nd when they do a live chat about it. Yet another first in series…lol.

    • That is strange for California, you must be in a different part than where my friend Ro is because she said the other day it was 97! I am striving for a Book a Day in May but only if I listen to lots of audiobooks…lol. Cozies are so good for a quick listen. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Yeah I’m not quite looking forward to a week of rain and storms either. Hoping it is more rain than storms though.

Nice new read! I saw that one and thought about it, but held back. I’d rather have a little more paranormal in my murder mysteries. Hope you enjoy it though!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. You reminded me I got an invite for Death in Castle Dark so I just went and downloaded it! I didn’t realize it was Julia Buckley! It’s been weirdly cold here too and I’m not a fan. The mosquitos can stay away but I want to go swimming! Have a great week!

  3. The weather has been weird here too – not cold per say, but cooler than normal this time of year. I hope your plants are ok!
