The Week In Review #319

September 27, 2020 Misc. 10

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

This week went by pretty quick at least for me…lol. Halloween nails came out and now I am patiently waiting for them to come in the mail…lol.

Had my first dr. appt. Thursday and got poked! They took my blood as it’s been 3 years since I had any blood work done and I have been really tired lately, with a number of other things. We talked hormones! I am getting older and I guess it was a topic we needed to talk about but gah. So waiting to see what the blood says before trying anything different, should know on Monday.

Watched a few more episodes of Cobra Kai, the dreaded bad guy from Karate Kid is back! (The old Cobra Kai teacher).

Our library had a sale and I might have splurged a bit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Rise of Zombert – I think I mentioned this back at the first of the year in one of my anticipated middle grade reads! So I am excited to have it to read now! Is Zombert really a zombie or just a strange cat? LOL I can’t wait to find out!

Sent from Publicist

  • These Violent Delights – I am excited about this one so I hope it don’t let me down! It’s sort of an Asian retelling of Romeo and Juliet. ๐Ÿ™‚

So as I mentioned above my library had it’s fall sale and I might have got a little crazy…lol.

Hope I got some gems in the bunch…lol.

Books read last week

ย ย

  • Fantastic Tales of Nothing – Graphic novel that really felt like it was full of…well, nothing! Thought I was never going to get through it and though a part of me is curious I don’t think I will continue.
  • Greenglass House – Well, I wanted to love this one but I didn’t. It was okay but had this picked as a 5 star read for a readathon and well more like 3 stars. ๐Ÿ™
  • Pasta Mortem – If this is the end of the series (it’s the last one on Goodreads) then it ended good, but would love more from this series.

  • The Westing Game – I tried really hard because I have heard such good things about this one but oh my it bored me. It didn’t read like a middle grade book at all and if I was a kid I would probably have been confused…lol.

Currently reading

  • The Forever House – So far it’s very strange but then again I expect nothing but from this author…lol.
  • Her Final Prayer – Really good so far but I figured I would like it as I really enjoyed book one! I am not a fan of polygamy but I do find it very interesting in this crime series. ๐Ÿ™‚
  • The Tourist Attraction – This is cute but at the same time I can see why some didn’t like it, but I find it great fluff with all the horror/mysteries read this month. ๐Ÿ™‚

What might be up next

Color Street

We got the Halloween nails in this week! Boo Crew sold out the first day and Night Terror the second day! They are suppose to be getting in a few more next week, so if you would like to try some of these cute nails get them now!

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Hope everything comes back okay from the doctor. As they say, it’s hell getting old. Lol. But yay for a library sale! I was actually pretty good this week in terms of adding books to my TBR pile.

I hope you enjoy all the new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

I’m reading Her Final Prayer now. I loved the first book, although polygamy is not really my genre. I love the suspense thought.

    Have a great week!

    My post is here.

Yeah doctor visits aren’t very fun the older you get. I’m mean they were never really fun but now they’re REALLY not fun! You’re not kidding on splurging. Looks like you got some great ones. I’m sorry you didn’t love Greenglass House. I think I liked it more then you but it wasn’t a 5 star read for me either. Have a great week.

  4. Greg

I’m looking forward to Halloween and all scary stuff for Oct! ๐Ÿ™‚ And good luck with the bloodwork. Hope it all goes well…

I need to get back to Cobra!!!! I’m loving that show so far. Good music too haha

Awesome library haul! There’s got to be a few gems in that! I hope everything comes back from the doctor good. I need to get in, was supposed to go back in April, but ya know, covid and all. And now to schedule an appointment I can’t see available times online like I used to. I have to call. And that’s just so much harder to make happen since it means no scheduling after hours and no knowing availability so I can coordinate my schedule with Kiko’s. All excuses and I just need to go.

Hope you have a great week!
