The Week In Review #310

July 26, 2020 Memes 12

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Weather here has been pretty hot but as long as I am inside I can handle it. πŸ™‚ I do think we have a chance for rain all next week so if that happens it will cool down some but could be muggy.

Besides working on trying to book parties for Color Street I haven’t done a lot this past week.

My garden is being ate up by stupid worms! I have tried several things but it’s not working and I am getting a little aggravated but I have got to eat a few tomatoes and picked some of my lettuce for a salad! πŸ™‚

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

From authors

Β

  • The Malan Witch – I don’t know much about it except it’s set in a small sleepy town and about witches and it’s a horror book. πŸ™‚

Bought (kindle)

  • The Magpie Coffin – I got a GC from a friend for my birthday and so I decided to try a splatter western! πŸ™‚ No nothing about it except I heard it was good and well I am curious about splatter westerns…lol.

Books read last week

  • Derailed – Slow to start (probably my mood) but it picked up and I got invested in figuring out who the killer was.
  • The Nothing Man – I liked it though it took me a bit to get into the format as it was POV of the MC and Killer plus excerpts of the book the MC wrote about the nothing man.
  • WhatΒ  A Meth– It was kind of a mess…lol. Short cozy mystery about a PI and it was okay but not my favorite in the series.

Currently reading

Β
  • Peace Talks – My main read that I need to finish! I am liking it but wishing it was an audio…lol. I am just doing better with audiobooks right now.
  • Girl, Unframed – Just really flipped it open so not an opinions.
  • Devolution – Same with this one, just flipped it open and seen it looks like a journal format so hope I like that. Read like 1% :).
  • Murder is Waiting – My favorite series! I am little over halfway through.
  • The Nature of the Beast – I am enjoying this one more than the past too so that is good! Only thing is I have to get use to a new narrator as the original one for this series died in 2014. The guy is okay but it’s just not the same.

What might be up next

Probably still reading those books above…lol.

How was your week? What did you get?

Color Street News

So my first party with Color Street was a success and Barb got to get two free manis and one for half price! Not to bad for just chatting with friends on facebook! If anyone is curious about Color Street dry nail polish and would like to book a party (and live in the US for now they are going to start going international next year!) let me know! I am taking bookings for August 7th, 13th and 21st. Let’s get you some free manis!

Woke up this morning to a message for my first booking in August! Yeah! πŸ™‚

Book and nails

At the Plaza and Nuclear Fusion so pretty!

Yeah, we have tried a lot of things but those stupid worms keep coming back…ugh.

I am doing pretty good with Color Street except for getting friends and family to book a party for me as that is how I get more business…ugh. Being shy doesn’t help either!

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah I am soooo over this heat. Bring on the cold please! Lol. We’re supposed to have rain all week too, but they said that of last week too and that only lasted 1 day so I have my doubts about this week’s rain too.

Nice new reads! Those are totally new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them both once you get to read them!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

Now, no I don’t want cold…cooler maybe but not cold…lol. Well we are supposed to get rain all week but so far today (Monday) it keeps pushing back and back on my phone…lol. So you never know, maybe tomorrow.

  2. Greg

It’s been hot here too and I’m over it. πŸ™‚ I could use a cooldown but we’re supposed to stay hot this week I guess. Sorry to hear about the worms but the tomatoes sound good!

I definitely want to get devolution, that looks fun.

    • Stormi

Over hot, but don’t want cold. I wouldn’t mind a nice steady 75 degrees. πŸ™‚

  3. Heather @RandomRedheadedRamblings

I hate worms and any sort of creepy crawly, I power washed my patio the other day and all sorts of bugs crawled out from under my plant pots.

I’m interested to see what Devolution is like, I loved World War Z.

    Have a good week!

    • Stormi

I don’t hate worms and creepy crawlies unless they are eating my veggies! πŸ™‚

Never read WWZ so if I like Devolution I might try it.

  4. Laura Thomas

I’ve had a problem with caterpillars. They burrow in the ground during the day and come out at night and eat everything up. Trying to find a solution is trial and error. LOL I wish I could send some rain your way. It’s been raining here for days.

    • Stormi

Yes! I have had large worms which I figure are caterpillars in some of my tomatoes!

We are suppose to get some rain so we shall see. πŸ™‚
