The Week In Review #308

July 12, 2020 Misc. 28

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So this week seem to fly by but I think mostly because I have been trying to cram my brain with all things Color Street trying to learn how to promote, get hostess signed up for parties, etc. It is way more to take in than I thought and I didn’t read much!

I had my official launch party for Color Street yesterday and have a group now on facebook called Nail Styling with Stormi! If you are curious about dry nail polish and want to join my group then come on over!(You can view the live launch and see a bunch of nails, so pretty!) 🙂 As soon as I get my kit I will be doing a live unboxing so you can see my face and I will be totally nervous…lol. There is something totally different about making a video and actually going live on my facebook group…lol.

Gardening news! I have some almost ripe tomatoes and lots of flowers on my bell pepper plants! My zucchini didn’t do well and so we planted another one and so maybe it will take. I have baby broccoli! Also those onions where grown by buying some in the store and using the green part and planting the white onion part, the green stock grows back and I just clip what I need. 🙂

Oh also yesterday was my birthday so not only did I have my launch party but I had a unexpected invite to grab a bite to eat before the online party.

So not real healthy but hey, they treated me so I couldn’t say no and it was my B-day those calories don’t count, right?! 😉 That is my crazy aunt making the face…lol.

Well, I have ramble a lot today so happy reading and have a safe week!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Nothing, to busy to look…lol.

Books read last week

  • No One Saw – So I am a bad book blogger and forgot I was on a tour for this one, so had to hurry up and get it done even though it didn’t get up on time at least it’s up. I really liked it!
  • The Institute – I liked it but I think it’s most because I listened to it cause I think I could have gotten bored just reading about a boy trying to escape an institute. 🙂
  • The Echo Killing – This one was okay, still not sure if I like the MC or not…lol.

Currently reading

  • The Unready Queen – I should have finished this but since I had to slip in the above book I didn’t get it finished.
  • Blameless – I am listening to this one and about halfway through it.
  • Peace Talks – I only got about 10% into it before having to put it aside for above book…I really want to get back into this one!
  • The Snow – Kind of a apocalyptic snowstorm with shadow things type of read…lol. It’s okay. Short listen so almost done.

What might be up next

How was your week? What did you get?

Thanks! Yeah, I was skeptic of the veggie scraps thing to but it’s working well. I think the onions work better than the lettuce at least for me…lol.

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Glad the start up is going well for you! And Happy belated Birthday! Birthday calories totally don’t count. So I hope you enjoyed your tasty treat!

And yay for not adding to the TBR pile! I unfortunately did not follow that rule this week! Lol!

    Happy Reading!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • Stormi

Well, the start up is going anyway…lol. Got one party books but need others to make my quota. I have to make at least 300 dollars in one month during a six month period to keep going it can be done in two really great parties. 😉

So glad b-day calories don’t count because oh my I so wasn’t stepping on that scale the next day…lol. 🙂

Happy birthday!! Sorry I didn’t make it to the launch party – it was bath/bottle /bed & then mom and dad dinner time. But I’ll swing by when you get your kit so I can order some nails. I think I’m going to start letting mine grow a bit. I think a little length might work better with the strips then my usually super short nails.

Love your garden! I have some tomatoes coming in too. My jalepanos are flowering, so 🤞. They’ve flowered before then almost died, so we’ll see.

Have a great day!! (oh and birthday calories SO DON’T COUNT) lol!

    • Stormi

Thanks! That’s okay about the launch, you have have been really supportive. By the way, my kit still isn’t here so might be next week before I get your mystery bag to you but it will happen…lol.

My nails are pretty short and they look cool but I do think a bit longer nails look better…lol. I have noticed since putting on these nail strips I don’t want to bite on my nails as much so they might grow up some. 🙂

Having the hardest time with my zucchini and something is eating my cabbage and broccoli! 🙁

  3. Michelle@Because Reading

Happy Birthday! I missed the party! I was watching something with my husband and it was no phone zone. I will check out the kit when I see your face, since I miss your face! 🙂

I really wish I would have gardened this year, I just didn’t have time and we had a lot going on.

    Birthday calories totally don’t count.

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! xx

    • Stormi

If the kit ever gets here…lol. You Jersey folk are slow! 😉 I expect it’s because of c19 that it’s taking awhile to get here, suppose to be here Friday.

My garden is half doing good and half not. I picked my first ripe tomatoes the other day! 🙂

Happy birthday! And birthday treat calories don’t count. It’s a rule. I’m sorry I missed the launch party but am looking forward to the unboxing. Between dry hospital air and constant hand washing my hands are looking rough! Enjoy your reading and have a great week.

    • Stormi

Thanks, so glad b-day calories don’t count…lol. I am so happy you are in my nail group! That unboxing will happen soon I hope, still haven’t got my kit. I got one party booked from Barb (boxermommy Briggs), so I am excited. I would ask you but you have your hands full right now. Love seeing your post on how your little one is doing. He sure is a super trooper!

  5. Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer

Everyone should have ice cream on their birthday! I try to get a soft serve treat once a month in the summer and save points to do so. This is a hard time to start a business but keep at it. Best of luck!

    • Stormi

Yes, ice cream is a b-day must…lol. I know it’s not the best time but at this point with the way the world is I am not sure when will be a good time to try my hand at a business adventure.

    • Stormi

Hi Nicky, thanks for the b-day wishes! I have heard some good things about Devolution too so I am hoping I like it!

  6. Yvonne

Happy Birthday! I’m pretty sure B-Day calories don’t count 🙂 I hope you have a great week!

    My Sunday Post is here.

  7. Barb @ Booker T's Farm

I’m sure the ice cream didn’t count. What a nice treat. I’m mailing out your birthday package Tuesday or Wednesday – once I’m done chewing out the hospital. Glad you had a great one!

    • Stormi

I so can’t wait for my package! Hope things are going better with your Gpa!

  8. Greg

Happy birthday!! Hope you had a great one. 🙂 And broccoli from the garden… yum. I used to hate broccoli but now I quite like it haha.

I need to get Devolution, that sounds amazing.

    • Stormi

Well, I might get broccoli from my garden if the critters don’t eat them first! 🙁 I am excited to try Devolution so I hope it’s a good one!

    • Stormi

Thanks! Oh, my I actually read The Stand and zzzz so bored me…lol. It took everything I could do to keep going, it was a buddy read or might have quite…lol. The institute though I enjoyed.
