BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Man, it was a hot one this week but there is rain in the forecast for next week, so it could cool down. I don’t mind a cool down and I am ready for fall but I am not looking for the months after fall…lol.

So my first project is done in my photoshop class. We had to do surrealism and I am finding out I am not real good with that…lol. I do think my third picture is probably my favorite. Next up we are doing face swaps and its a little weird because we have to swap out faces on photos of child labor pics from the 1900’s, not sure why he likes those pics unless they are just some really hard pics to swap with as we have to take our color pics and make them black and white, add smudges and make them grungy, etc. 🙂

Okay so here are my pics. 🙂

  • The first one is kind of my rendition of Little Red Riding Hood, got the wolf over there and some glowing red eyes, crow for a death omen, girl sleeping and a basket…lol.
  • The second one I have a shark going after a guy and a giant hand saving him…lol.
  • The third one I just went all out and put a tree is space with some pretty planets, a rock with an eye and a jelly fish just floating around in space…lol. I love this one the most, the colors are so pretty. 🙂

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

This always happens after I do really good…lol. All the books I requested comes in all at once. 🙂

  • Hide and Seek – Love this series!! It seems I have been waiting forever for this one to come out as I just have to know what happens!! Oh the end of the last one. What Nikki has gotten herself into!!! Book 6 in the Helen Grace series.
  • The First One to Die – So not finished book one yet (Halloween Bingo got in the way), but couldn’t pass up grabbing the second one. British mystery series.
  • Thread the Halls – Another favorite series and only one behind not counting this one so doing pretty good…lol. I banned new cozies but not ongoing series. 😉 Can’t wait to get caught up on this series. Book 6 in the Mainely Needlepoint series.
  • City of Lies – First in a new historical mystery series. I really like this authors Gaslight Mystery series so I was excited to see a new series from her.

So these were all very much needed so I don’t feel so bad…lol. 🙂 #Ineededthem

Books read last week

Currently reading

  • Devils Unto Dust – 31% in and it’s okay, but I think I picked up to quickly after reading Dread Nation and it reminds me a lot of it.
  • A Secret Garden – Not a huge chick lit person so not sure why I agreed to read this one!! Only 9% in so it hasn’t hooked me yet if it’s going too!
  • Old World Murder – I am about half done with this one and it’s not real bad but not sure if I like the persistence of the MC (trying to find an artifact) or if I want to tell her to concentrate on her job…lol.

What might be up next

  1. I love fall, winter less so as then it’s too cold again. I like that third picture with the jellyfish floating through the air. It does fit the surrealism feel.

Your new books look good. I also have to be careful to to start as many new series. City of Lies looks good. have a great week!

  2. Yup, I’m not looking forward to the months AFTER fall either 😀 I get what you mean. But hey. Christmas? 🙂
Photoshop class! Your pics look great! I really love that second one, with the pool.
I also know what you mean about NetGalley 😀 it’s like they have set days when they ALL just log in at once and grant all your wishes (on your by now sorry head :D). Good luck clearing those up, although I think you’ll enjoy it anyway 🙂
    Have a great week!

Not a huge Christmas fan so, how about New Years. Yep, by the time December gets here I am so ready for the beginning of the next year. 🙂

Thanks, I was really having a hard time finding a pic and going…oh I could put this in it and make it look like it belonged there and be weird and strange…lol. Surrealist I am not. 🙂

Yeah, I am happy with all my grabs at NG so not sorry but do all the pubs get together and go, lets just let them have it…boom boom boom all the books…lol.

  3. You did an awesome job on your projects! I am very proud of you! 🙂
It’s going to be hot here this week and all I want is Chili. So I am going to make it next Sunday whether it’s hot or not!!! 🙂

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! ox

  4. I have two books to read before I get to book six in the M J Arlidge series…it’s my cloak and dagger challenge series pick so I need to speed up!

  5. It was super hot here too, and is supposed to be until Wednesday. Where is the fall weather lol? But I’m with you, winter can take a hike.

Love your Photoshop pics! That first one actually looks like an urban fantasy cover . I like it.

  6. Nice photoshopping!

It’s been hot here, too; I hope it cools off soon.

I saw Thread the Halls and immediately ran off to NG to request it. 🙂 I’d request the Victorian Thompson mystery, too, but I’m so swamped right now, I can’t justify it. Have fun with your books, and have a great week!

  7. Great job with you photoshop projects. It sounds like you are having a great time. I am not looking forward to the passing of summer, but what can ya do? Chile and hot choclate by a cozy fire isn’t bad. 🙂

  8. I wish we would get a release date for Longmire. I’m sad it’s the last as well. I love the cover for The First One to Die. It must be the colors because overall, I don’t think it’s that spectacular. Hope you are cruising along on DUD 🙂

  9. I think you did a great job on your projects, Stormi. I too like that third one. Jellyfish in the sky. Cool! And I see you have some more great looking books. As for fall, not here yet and I’m in no hurry. Me and cold don’t go well together. LOL

  10. The pictures are great! I love the shark with the giant hand and the tree in space especially. I got the Lea Waite too though I’m 2 book behind on the series. I need to get reading! City of Lies looks good. I haven’t actually read Victoria Thompson but I have several of her books and have heard good things. Have a great week!
