BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

What you might have missed on my blog

So this week has been full of taking care of dad, men are so whimpy. 🙂 He had his surgery on Tuesday and everything went really well but he is just really sore. He can’t bend over so if he drops something I have to pick it up. I think he is milking the I can only lift ten pounds…lol. He is feeling a little better and he has a follow up on Wednesday to see how long he has to keep the binder on him (kind of like a huge wrap brace type thing). I have to drive him around and he is a front seat driver and so I can’t wait till he can drive again!!! I don’t like driving as is but I get nervous with passengers and especially ones that are like, it’s 35 through here, that’s close enough you can stop, here comes a car!!!!!! I was like shut up!

So nothing like doing some serious categorizing of a certain genre to know you got a series bookish problem that needs contained!! Not saying how many cozy series I have a going but it’s enough to make me stop and realize I can’t read every cozy series out there no matter how much I want. So below you will see all I got is cozies this week and I talk about a ban. 🙂 I have a crazy amount and I am talking CRAZY amount and they are all review series and I am behind on most of them so no more….oooh pretty, clicks. 🙁

I am doing a Halloween Bingo on booklikes so you will be seeing lots of spooky and well of course mysteries as the bingo is a mixture of both. 🙂 It goes from Sept. 1st to Oct. 31st so I am hoping to get a lot of my card blacked out but I probably won’t get the whole thing.

Have a great week!!

Books I have added

So after this week I have put myself on a new series cozy mystery ban! I took some time to make a list of all the cozy series I have going and OMG! I am behind on most of them so got to quick with the oooh…thing I got going on here. I must be strong!!! (I can get books in series I am already reading but NO new ones!!!) 🙂 🙁

  • A Murder for the Books – New series! Seriously it was about books so I couldn’t help it…lol.
  • A Cajun Christmas Killing – Third in series and I loved the first one and haven’t read the second yet.
  • Of Spice and Men – Third in a series I haven’t even started yet!!!
  • Best-Laid Plants – Sixth in a series that I am currently reading book five so almost caught up…lol.

See what I mean! #bookishproblems 🙂 Hoping to make this ban stick at least until January. I can do that, right?

Books read last week

  • Becoming Dragon – Langlais just has fun series! I enjoyed this.
  • Clouds in My Coffee – I really like this retro cozy series. It’s fun being in the 70’s instead of present day.
  • Killer Party – My favorite series and now I am all caught up again, how sad…lol. Great addition to the series.
  • The Exorcist – This had it’s ups and downs. Not as scary as I thought it might be but it had some creepy atmosphere and boy the vulgar language…lol. I think having seen the movie years ago might have dampened the fun but I still liked it.

Currently reading

  • The Bluebonnet Betrayal – Totally thought I had read this one and realized I had not after getting the next in series on netgalley. It’s a favorite series so I had to jump on it and fix that mistake…lol.
  • The Limehouse Text – This one is going much better than the second book so I am happy. 🙂

What might be up next

  1. Yep. Cozies are my addiction too, Stormi. Just grabbed some Christmas ones too. Never too early. LOL Did you see Hunter has another new one released? Had to grab it. It’s about megalodon sharks!

  2. I hope your dad is feeling much better, Stormi. And that he can drive himself soon… My husband is the same way, I hate to drive with him in the car – it’s as if I haven’t had my licence for 28 years with no accidents *sighs*.
Cozies are nice, but I’m not addicted to them the same way I am to various romance sub genres 😉 It’s nice to have a whole lot of fave genres just waiting to be read, though.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!

  3. I love the Julie Mulhern series and I’ll have to check out the series for Killer Party. I’m glad your dad’s surgery went so well and hope he recovers quickly so he can start doing things on his own…lol. Occasionally, I have to drive my husband somewhere and he does the same thing your dad does. Drives me crazy, too! And my kids usually refuse to drive him somewhere!

    Have a great week, Stormi!

  4. There’s just no way any of us can read all the books that look like fun… but it’s so darned hard to keep from clicking! I might need to do a wholesale NetGalley ban, but I can’t bring myself to do it.

Have a great week and enjoy those cozies! I got A Murder for the Books too.

  5. I hope your Dad gets to feeling better and I am glad the surgery went well. I do understand what you are talking about, my husband had what we call at our house, “man flu” this week. It’s awful. It’s a cold for god sakes. lol… Enjoy your new book you got this week. 🙂

    Happy reading,
    Jenea’s Book Obsession’s Sunday Post

  6. Glad your Dad is doing well. Men and sickness can be a handful huh? Cozies do have the best covers. I got that a Cajun Christmas Killing book too but you are better than me. I have to read both the first and the second. I seriously think November may be cozy month for me.

  7. Men are absolutely the biggest wimps! Haha! I hope your dad feels better soon! I’ve always wanted to read The Exorcist but I’ve always wanted to. Maybe I should pick that up for Halloween! Have a great week 😀

  8. Ha ha about your dad, hope he feels better soon (for both your sakes lol). I love the cozy covers, and A Murder for the Books looks fun. I need to read the latest Julie Mulhern too.

  9. Men! Amirite? lol {{{posivibes}}} that he’ll be back up and running ASAP. 🙂

Uh, oh. I was totally going to tell you about a cool cozy series I discovered at the library, but I won’t now. Well, shit. I probably shouldn’t have said even that much. Oh, who am I kidding? I’m a total sadist. 🙂

I hope you have a wonderful week, Stormi!

  10. Men are whiney when they are not 100%. I’m sure there is an element of milking it going on. LOL. I hate driving my parents. Really, I’ve only ever driven my mother, but she is awful. My father couldn’t even keep himself together to teach me how to drive. I did two drives with him and that was the end. My mom has finally learned to read a book, the newspaper, or work on her sudoku book and ignore what I’m doing and what’s going on around us.

  11. I put myself on bans all the time. I hope it works better for you than it does for me. I hope your dad is on the mend and all healed soon. I must admit that I am a bit of a backseat driver when my husband is at the wheel. In my defense, he is a speed demon and I sometimes have to fear for my life. I hope everything goes back to normal soon and that you have a great week!

  12. I’ve gone overboard on my cozy requests too so I’m trying to not request anymore. But it is really hard to do, since you don’t want to miss the books in sequential order lol. I hope your dad feels better soon, men can be big babies lol. I hope you have a great week!

  13. I was just talking with my friend, we were discussing that we don’t know what a cozy mystery is! Of course, I don’t read mysteries… but how can something about, um, crime, be cozy? 😀 maybe you can tell me more about it!
It’s really good about your “pretty-click” ban though. And I know what you mean about it 😀
