Horrible reading week! I think I jinxed myself after writing my DNF report because I DNFed the two books I was trying to read. I am just not in the mood for slow moving books. One the author gave me and I loved his first book so I was like sure, then I couldn’t get through it and made it to page 70 verily and the repetitive words and it was just so boring. The author though was very nice and told me he was sorry I didn’t like it and not to feel obligated to finish it and if I did finish it he was okay with a less that stellar review…how about that an author that gets it…so he stays on my reading list and I will try him again, some times there is just a book that is not for me and I don’t like trying to force myself. He said the reviews on this book had been interesting to see come in as either you loved it or hated it but not many in between. Then the other book I didn’t even make it to 30 pages and was in snoozeville so just quit…lol. I don’t want to get in a slump cause I am bored with my reads!!

Thank goodness for some good audios and a horror novella or I wouldn’t have gotten much read…lol. 🙂 I am feeling the urge to read horror and skip out on my review list so I don’t slump. I hate doing that though so maybe I can fit in some horror off my list. 🙂

The forecast calls for rain and more rain and more rain…oh wait a dry day then more rain. I am sick and tired of RAIN. 🙁

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Death Below Stairs – Historical mystery.
  • She Be Damned – Another historical mystery. I have been hitting and missing with these types lately so lets hope these are both good. 🙂
  • Money Back Guarantee – Book three in Hunter Shea’s Mail Order Massacres series. 🙂

Audios for review

  • River of Teeth – Short audio about feral hippos in an alternate US during like the 1890’s I believe. Not gotten real far but I am so waiting for some hungry hippos to attack or something…lol.
  • Halloween in Paradise – I love this series they are short cozies with a great mystery. 🙂

From one of my BFF blog buddies!!!!

  • We Are Always Watching – I think a buddy read will be coming up as we both like Hunter Shea!! 🙂 Thank you!!!!

Books read last week

I enjoyed all three! 🙂

What might be up next

What I am watching

Well, I am mainly watching stuff I have watched over and over…lol. Midsumer Murders is a regular watch for me, seen them all I lot of times. 🙂 I am watching Midnight, Texas and this month is the last installments of the Garage Sale Mysteries. 🙁 Each Sunday will feature a mystery and it has been advertising the last one as the final chapter in this limited series so I take that as its over…boo.

How was your week? What did you get?

It’s always nice when an author gets it. I’ve had a lot who are jerks about it. I’ve been listening to a lot of horror podcasts lately, and ghost stories. Have a great week!

His response was great! I am glad he wasn’t an ass about it.
I am sort of loving the horror books at the moment. Also need to get ahead so I have reviews for October.

We are suppose to get rain this week also, I am just hoping it’s at the beginning of the week and not the end.

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! ox

I need to read Shark Island so I’m anxious to see your thoughts. I’ve heard some good things about it. I like the cover for Girls in the Water but I’ve been burned by some thrillers lately so they kind of scare me! At least the author who sent you the book was very understanding. That’s always a plus!

I have been wanting to read the Garage Sale mysteries for a long time, but haven’t had a chance. I should probably watch the TV movies, though. I’m enjoying Midnight Texas. Your books all look good. Hope you enjoy them.

    Have a great week.

I know what you mean. Hope you don’t get in a slump! This is currently happening to me too – I am bored out of my socks, but the book is an ARC by a famous author and I just must finish it. And it’s LOOOONG. Nooo!

Hope the rain slacks off… we haven’t had much here, and wow I just probably jinxed myself. Nice too that the author was so gracious, that attitude makes perfect sense because of course not everyone is gonna like your book, why burn bridges with bloggers right? By being reasonable he still has you as a potential reader next time. There’d be a lot less Twitter drama if all authors were like that right? lol

River of Teeth ha ha. Even though I didn’t love it it still has a killer premise. 🙂

Shark Island and The Girls in the Water both look interesting.

One of my fears of accepting books from authors is if I don’t like their book but sounds like you had a good experience. I have struggled with one of my reads this week. I will still be finishing it but it’s been put to the side for now. Hope you have a bette reading week this week.

That is unfortunate. I had to set aside a book this week. I think it was just that I wasn’t in the right mood for the genre and will try it again later. I see some good ones here. Shark Island is also on my list. I’m very curious what you think of River Of Teeth. Lots of mixed reviews. I liked it. And Hunter is showing up all over with his new ones. Just finished Optical delusion.
